Class for Zoom vs. Top Hat

I feel like there is no major drawbacks of Class for Zoom app. However some of the area it has outshines well where some of its performance needs more enhancement. It is best to use for Corporate Training, higher education or certification program, skills development workshop. However its less suitable for promotional meeting where large number of participants are present. It is not suggested for old systems since lagging issue is there. Self paced learning its not suitable.

Top Hat is well suited for courses where students are comfortable with utilizing online learning management system as part of their course contents. It is more appropriate to use Top Hat as a stand-alone learning management system or if the school happens to have it integrated to the system. It is not recommended to use Top Hat and another platform or system for students as this would be too much for students.

• Send a message to the whole group or just one person.
• screen sharing is the best feature.
• It is used for knowledge based communication, conferences and webinars.
• very easy process

• I use Top Hat as a discussion tool where the students can write what they have learned or what they haven't.
• Exams are taken in class and are totally paperless with grades available immediately.

• The virtual background feature doesn't work that great on windows devices even after having a sound graphics card and other required hardware
• Its mobile apps lack many features which are available in computer versions

• If students are paying, it's a confusing onboarding process for students and instructors and could be better streamlined.
• The Android app not as well polished as iOS.
• A better, free, or ad-supported model might be more palpable to students.
• Integration directly with PowerPoint -- not requiring instructors to upload their slides to Top Hat.

I give this rating since I find it productive since I am using it. It gives a all new experience for training and development of professionals. Many features available which can help us analyze the learner performance. It has a bit learning curve for a new bee. however it is overall good for short to medium size organization to enhance their team learning skills.

Class for Zoom was a very clear improvement over just plain Zoom. The additional features make for a much richer experience overall. One main reason Class for Zoom stood out over other similar products is how seamlessly everything was integrated together. This is very important as the more clunky it feels the less engaging the meeting will feel and Class for Zoom did a great job at not feeling clunky.

Top Hat generally stacks up pretty well against other industry leading or popular learning management systems. Top Hat is comparable to learning management systems used in most educational institutions. The features such as allowing the educator to create an interactive experience by leveraging tools such as quizzes and polls is comparable. Data on student performance is also a helpful feature that is comparable to that of other similar learning management systems.

• One of the better ways to track attendance in a mostly secure and automated way.
• Promotes more active learning, especially in large classrooms.
