DDMSPLUS vs. Unit4 Enterprise Resource Planning

it seems to be able to handle multiple locations well. It has a good vpn connection. It makes working at home easy. The problem is it is still run on a dos system. They are removing it slowly, but not all aspects of DDMSPLUS are easy. In my experience, it is hard to get any types of reporting out of that system. For us, AP and payroll are impossible.

Unit4 is good for small and mid-level companies where they need a single platform to manage their functionality.

• Since the software is built with your needs in mind, it can be tailored to your specific needs.
• System security is also created with your specific needs in mind and can be extremely detailed for various roles within the organization.
• The various modules integrate well, if thought through system processes when building.

• it is based on a dos system so a new refresh would be nice
• better order entry and history lookup

• Their layout and limited web capabilities are a turn-off
• They lack basic functionality in their web [version]
• The implementation phase is bumpy since their guides and process documents are not step by step and are usually confusing

Unit4 is very easy to use. One can use it without much technical knowledge.

There are a few people that are perfect ratings, but if you dont get one of them it is a little difficult to move forwards. [...], [...], [...], [...], [...]. If you talk to one of them your problems will be solved very quickly. The other support agents im not as familiar with but, in my opinion, some are good

Their consultant and support service is also very responsive.

I have used Fund EZ and QuickBooks. Unit4 is for larger organizations and was needed for our scaling.

• Things like contracts under the master account only instead of having to carry them through to all departments would be a plus!

• Our business processes were in flux when the initial build of our system was taking place - this made lives very difficult. Make sure processes are set!
• Time - beyond what could have been imagined - this is a huge project, that needs proper resources assigned to it within a company when planning to install.
