Donorbox vs. DonorDock

I think Donorbox is well suited to an environment that has a lot of traffic and could be prone to bottlenecks, like a check-in desk, where it's an important spot to engage visitors for donations but cannot be efficiently done in an individual, personal way - much more engaging to have it as a self-serve kiosk that visitors can engage with using various forms of payment.

If someone requires having a lot of customized fields for donors or wants to drill down to really minute details, it might be for them. For the average fundraiser, development director, or non-profit, I think they are great.

It's a great product with room to grow, and I know they are growing. I used Donor Dock in a previous job when it was very new, and the growth I've seen over the last 4-5 years is impressive. It's an affordable product, and you save money on not having to purchase an email platform in addition to the database.

Donorbox had more customization options and a better overall interface for public-facing donor engagement, as well as backend administration, than cheaper alternatives like Zeffy and Givebutter. We determined that it was worth paying more for the Donorbox subscription to have a better-looking and better-functioning donor kiosk that would meet our institution's standards and inspire trust in donations.

DonorDock is a better fit for financially challenged nonprofits that are still looking for a powerful tool.
