Dynamo Software vs. uberVu (discontinued)

I think to organise and view information Dynamo has shown it's capability. However, it's still not a workflow or project management tool. It's a great hub for inhaling and presenting information of magnitude, and it does so well. But there are limitations to how Dynamo can be used to allow interpersonal and teamed type collabs to happen. We know it's not an Asana and not built for that, so it's not a negative feedback, just not the appropriate platform if full fledged proj management and logistics, comms need to be housed somewhere along with the data, It's not within Dynamo for now.

I liked uberVU a lot, and thought I was lucky to have found them (they actually responded to my tweet when I was vendor-searching, which was good to know as they were doing just what we were planning to use the software for). They are relatively small, which allows to have a great personal relationship and we felt very valued as a client. They provided great value - some of their competitors allow for more features (which explains their higher price), but there was no way to opt out of the unnecessary features to lower the price - uberVU didn't have any of that, it was just what we needed and in our price range

• Tracking relationships in the CRM and the Web Add-in tool to add new information straight from emails.
• The flexibility to build out whatever view you would like to see certain data in and the ability to then export information to Excel.
• The Mail Merge Tool allows us to communicate to over 100 different subsets of our limited partners in different SPVs.

• Easy to see what people are saying on social media about clients.
• Creates reports that can be limited to certain time frames.
• Able to see the reach of users so you can breakdown by influencers.

• Some functionality is clunky: Mailing Campaigns, Passthrough Integration, Dynamo Accounting Complex Transactions. At times it seems functionality is rolled out too soon.
• Onboarding of new clients for us seems a bit haphazard. We just added a new tenant with CRM, Dynamo Accounting and the Investor Portal and we weren't exactly sure what the state of the new tenant should be based on what was copied over from a prior tenant or how much Dynamo Software time or support we would have to customize the new tenant.
• At times it seems Dynamo Software's terminology with relationships either isn't intuitive or is repetitive creating additional time/confusion when modifying workspaces, portal set-up, etc.

• I honestly didn't have any issues with them. Being able to set the real-time alerts as "every 15 minutes" took some figuring out to do, and we were still in the trial mode while we did that - it wasn't particularly intuitive for other users, but once we walked them through, everything worked well.

I find it a great tool in the digital strategy world to see what people are saying across social platforms. It's much more efficient that doing a search on the platform itself and provides a lot of information extremely quickly

I find it easy to use and very intuitive once you get into the weeds. We also prepared an entire policies and procedures for utilizing it efficiently and not making many human errors. This guide has helped our employees understand how to use it. In addition, the help guides on the Dynamo website are really useful

All the users found the product intuitive and easy to use.

A couple of times it was a little slow, but this didn't result in any negative impact for us. There was no downtime as I could recall or notice.

Every time we needed help, the support was great. We had no issues, mostly needed usability walkthroughs and had questions about features.

I got the training while I was evaluating and in the trial period. Then I trained the others myself

Not applicable since it is SAAS - all we needed was to sign up, which was easy

Main arguments were: pricing as well as the usability. Setting up Dynamo is not difficult. Especially if you don't know what you really want. Dynamo offers out of the box views. Adjusting these is simple. Other competitiors like eFront are very customisable but need to be set up from scratch. Dynamo offered some type of canvas.

Radian6 and Brandwatch were on the short list. We picked uberVU for its combination of price and features. It did not have extra features we didn't need, they were customizable and flexible enough to meet all of our needs

• Allows us to view funding quickly and efficiently

• Easier to handle crisis.
• Ability to find out statistics to quantify and qualify what you're doing for customers.
