Overall Satisfaction with Dynamo Software
We use Dynamo Software for our CRM, Investor Portal, communication to limited partners, accounting and fund administration. Dynamo Software has allowed us to almost triple the size of our business. There are numerous things that were not even possible previously that we are now able to do within the software. We also have a single source of truth now rather than multiple excel files tracking data that was time consuming and frustrating for our internal team.
Pros
- Tracking relationships in the CRM and the Web Add-in tool to add new information straight from emails.
- The flexibility to build out whatever view you would like to see certain data in and the ability to then export information to Excel.
- The Mail Merge Tool allows us to communicate to over 100 different subsets of our limited partners in different SPVs.
Cons
- With the ability to build or have something custom built there isn't much to add here.
- We are very unique in the PE space and there is some functionality we would like but I'm not sure many other clients would find it beneficial.

Relationships and Performance - the ability to see all of the relations for our investors (and other parties) has been a game changer. We can now gain insights and see information that used to typically only live inside our deal teams heads when it comes to referrals or seeing all of the investing accounts on one dashboard for an investor. On fundraising we can set automated reminders to reach back out during a fundraise, see our last communication or entire history of communication with an LP.
The overall efficiency has been so great it’s hard to really quantify. There were tasks and excel files that were so cumbersome and manual that we constantly triple check data. We are really starting to see a lot of impact on decision making during our bi-weekly management meetings with the ability to pull up different data in the CRM during internal discussions.
DDA - Dynamo Data Automation - we are using DDA to grab documents for 40+ portals. Not having multiple members having issues logging onto a portal or interrupt their work to grab a capital call or quarterly report has been really nice. We are considering other AI features to deploy in the near future.
Dynamo Software was able to offer us a CRM, Investor Portal, Accounting Software and Fund Administration solution that we couldn't find anywhere else that would allow us to easily import and export data in Excel. Other vendors practically owned our data or there was additional cost to get data exported. We had a really bad experience with a previous provider so we took a very long time (almost 2.5 years ) to diligence all of the other options we could find and we are extremely happy we decided to go with Dynamo Software.
