Overall Satisfaction with Dynamo Software

We use Dynamo Software as a CRM for all of our clients (hedge funds, PE, VC, etc.) to maintain investor data in order to distribute information to their investors. In addition, we will leverage Dynamo Accounting as well as the Investor Portal for clients that need those services or want something more sophisticated than using QuickBooks and Excel to keep the books and records of their funds. As an administrator, we have a breadth of clients that have different needs and cost points.

Pros

  • Keeps improving the software
  • Client management and support
  • It is very customizable

Cons

  • Some functionality is clunky: Mailing Campaigns, Passthrough Integration, Dynamo Accounting Complex Transactions. At times it seems functionality is rolled out too soon.
  • Onboarding of new clients for us seems a bit haphazard. We just added a new tenant with CRM, Dynamo Accounting and the Investor Portal and we weren't exactly sure what the state of the new tenant should be based on what was copied over from a prior tenant or how much Dynamo Software time or support we would have to customize the new tenant.
  • At times it seems Dynamo Software's terminology with relationships either isn't intuitive or is repetitive creating additional time/confusion when modifying workspaces, portal set-up, etc.
  • It allows us to offer a more sophisticated accounting application and investor portal in our suite of technology.
The one item that has a lot of potential to benefit us is the integration with Passthrough. We participated in the beta testing, but have not implemented this. Another item that would impact our processes greatly is an improved version of Mail Merge / Mailing Campaigns.
Generally, the usability is good, but there are still some applications that are clunky such as Mail Merge. Administrating the software at times can be challenging.
Dynamo Software makes the most sense from a cost perspective for available offerings to our clients. The integration between the CRM, Accounting module and investor portal. We also appreciate the ability to customize the investor portal to the client's request all within the same license.

1. A client looking for integration of CRM, accounting and the investor portal.
2. Clients looking for a well developed investor portal to simply provide documents on one end to providing charts, graphs and investor level information on the other.
3. It is not well suited for smaller cost conscious clients.
