ExpressVPN vs. NordLayer vs. Proton VPN for Business

a colleague using it in china wrote up a detailed report of how he was unable to get out of china with it. he included screenshots and write-ups on his many trials and tribulations of dealing with tech support, trying to get thru the gfw, and he ultimately ended up using another solution altogether which DID work.

NordLayer has become an invaluable resource for our security posture and day-to-day activity. The primary use case is preventing staff members from accessing sensitive resources on an unencrypted connection, applying NordLayer and conditional access policies in congruency. The ability to create teams and assigned them to specific dedicated servers is also helpful and allows for further security segmentation

ProtonVPN is 100% suited while we are concerned about our privacy and speed while using a VPN. But if you want a great ping and want to stream games or do online multiplayer gaming, it is not so much suited because of the crown on all of its servers and their high pings.

• ExpressVPN was easy to install, and simple to connect to a VPN network.
• ExpressVPN is available for multiple platforms and multiple browsers.
• The price is reasonable for the added level of security it provides.

• it maintains a great speed and stability
• has a free plan for the basic, privacy concerned user
• some of its server also supports p2p file sharing
• their absulute no-logs policy
• easy to use interface

• A better price point - it's not prohibitively expensive, but I'm not buying it again at that price point without a pressing need.

• The browser plugin needs some work, or some research about what browser/OS restrictions may limit its functionality. Ours does not work at all even after contacting support so we do not use it
• Toast/Windows notifications scheduled or deployed through admin center would be amazing. The ability to remind a user who has been disconnected for X hours would be a great feature

Engineering team members can work from remote locations which helps companies to reduce their operational costs. It is easy to use so team members don't have to spend any extra time to use this. It helps team members access web pages which are otherwise not available due to location restrictions.

nord was a player, too, but we buy both nord and expressvpn now. we have tried sort of a hodge-podge of all the typical commercial vendors out there. If I Was to compare them all, they'd all be approximately a rating of "meh", 50-50. I'm not a fan of any. We also tried self-hosting vpn's but that requires local tech staff we don't want to have to focus on having.

easy configuration and use case

Proton VPN allows free users to enjoy and protect their privacy on the internet without compromising safety and security. they have a no-logs policy and they do not store the data of users. Thus they stand out from most of the VPNs out there. Also, the proton VPN has great speed on its free servers which are not offered by any other VPN I have seen so far. that's definitely a plus point.
