Filecamp vs. Salsify

Filecamp lets you share assets with your team or external stakeholders. I was the admin (in my previous position) for a Filecamp install for +300 users. The assets can be available to all or you can share them with granular permissions. You can store images, videos, documents and other types of files. There's nothing I actually dislike... perhaps I'd like better reporting tools. But it's no biggie.

If you're looking for a tool to be able to syndicate singular products to other platforms, Salsify does well. Where it falls down a bit is when you're creating kits or bundles and trying to pass that data along to other applications. Overall, it's the best syndication platform we've found in the market.

• The customer service is AMAZING! They walked us through everything step by step... multiple times. They are also working with us on how to identify our goals.

• We are missing an InDesign plugin.
• Would be nice if you could give access to a folder but not to a subfolder or even a specific file within it. No other platform does this properly so this would really set Filecamp apart in my opinion.
• Custom thumbnails too complicated to create.

• A better GUI interface
• Better support as at times it takes a while to hear back from them
• More user training have better efficiency on using the software

I am only giving it a 9 because they are working on streamlining the uploading process to make things easier on our end - once this is complete I would most likely give it a 10!

Extremely fast and helpful support. Our problems get solved in a matter of minutes

The team is extremely friendly and helpful. They came in for an in-house training and schedule calls to walk us through new features, etc.

Unlimited users and ease of use! I like that Filecamp is our one-stop-shop for all our digital assets. It's so easy that we never have to explain our users or clients how it works. We're OS X users and everything seems really familiar which helps. Everyone who has interacted with it (team members, clients, and external press contacts) have been very happy with their experience.

I was not directly involved in the purchase decision process to acquire Salsify as we started using it after it, but I can tell the Team decided on Salsify for a number of solid reasons including functionalities, price, integration options, and usability. Otherwise, we would have kept the older tool or decided on a different provider. Salsify took the lead as the ideal solution for us earlier this year.

• Increased the productivity of the publish process.
• 5x products are published per partner in the same time it took earlier.
• Product information like pricing and images can be downloaded in a click.
