Frontline Student Information System (SIS) vs. Tyler SIS

Frontline is perfect for managing student info, such as parental relationships, grades, IEPs, and other notes about each particular student. Frontline makes running reports quite easy, as you can group different info together for it to pull into a single report document. I wouldn't recommend Frontline for those wanting to do more detailed grading, or for those wanting to quickly enter information within a limited amount of time.

When it comes to tracking grades and attendance or even just entering grades and attendance, this has been the best system I have used in fifteen years in education. The administrative side has many features and tools that allow us as a school or district to identify students that would benefit from specific interventions. Overall, it has been a great product for us. I am not aware of any scenarios where Tyler SIS is less appropriate than other products.

• Auto-save (it would be great to have information saved automatically because if I get distracted or if my browser freezes, I don't have to start from the beginning if I didn't get a chance to save).
• Freezing (sometimes when running more detailed reports or trying to quickly enter grades, the program will freeze for minutes at a time, and I'll have to refresh).

• Frontline has helped streamline the way we manage student registration.
• We've had fewer user errors when using the Frontline software, likely because the UI is easy to navigate.
• We've been able to more closely care for students, as we can track information about them as they move from grade level to grade level.

• Tyler SIS also makes things easier for parents by consolidating all information they need.
• There have been many times where the website has been down, and it essentially shuts us down until the issue is resolved.
