Overall Satisfaction with Tyler SIS

Tyler SIS is our student information system. We've used Tyler SIS for over 20 years. Tyler SIS houses all of our student information as well as our staff information. You can look up student grades, attendance, discipline , etc. Additionally, you can use it for your staff. We pull reports of staff data such as addresses and phone numbers.

Pros

  • Great for Missouri
  • IEPs
  • Easy to use

Cons

  • Sometimes it feels like things are buried.
  • You have to know where items are to use them
  • Looks like it's from the early 2000s
  • Tyler has saved us time from paper records
Since Infinite Campus is a national company, their software is written more for others, whereas Tyler SIS was used more in Missouri. Additionally, Infinite Campus' SPED program is very lacking compared to Tyler's. Tyler didn't offer as pretty of a GUI, but both systems seem to work well for collecting student information.

Tyler works great for Missouri schools. They are a Missouri company and they follows DESE very closely. They offer a full suite of products that most others will charge for. Their IEP program is great and they offer lunch programs as well. Overall, Tyler SIS is a great student information system.
