HYCU
The SQL database structure and application-consistent snapshots to local storage and recovery are very well done. The interface is nicely made and it is an intuitive design that needs very little training to use. The Restore from the Cloud function is cumbersome and slow, that could be improved by downloading and finding parts needed, instead of the entire backup media.

I've been using QNAP NAS for a while now, and it's been great for my home setup. The interface is pretty user-friendly, even for someone who's not super techy, but there are plenty of advanced features to dig into if you need them. Setup was straightforward, and I love how easy it is to access my files remotely. The apps work well, and I've had no major issues with performance. It's been reliable, and I feel like my data is secure. Overall, it's just a solid piece of gear that does exactly what I need. Highly recommend! 10/10 from me!

Cons
HYCU
  • I'd like to see lower annual costs.
  • The setup for Azure backups required a lot of assistance from Support.

  • It is not related to the QNAP NAS, but the most common problem we have experienced is with the disks themselves.

Usability
HYCU
In a Nutanix AHV environment, it’s probably the best solution out there. It checks the most important boxes for us - immutable backups, on-Prem and off site backup storage targets, Azure DR. Policy based backups make administration a breeze. Pricing is cost effective. For the most part, support is able to take care of our needs, but better guidance around creating an effective and robust DR solution is needed

QNAP Systems
QNAP NAS's usability is excellent, making it accessible to both beginners and more experienced users. The setup process is straightforward, with clear instructions that guide you through everything. The user interface is intuitive, allowing you to navigate easily between settings, apps, and features. Even with its powerful functionality, such as remote access and advanced file management, it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The mobile apps make it convenient to access files on the go, and everything integrates smoothly. Whether you need basic storage or more advanced features, QNAP balances ease of use with powerful capabilities, making it a highly user-friendly NAS option.

Support Rating
HYCU
I have had several requests, and issues with the rollout and deployment of HYCU in our production environment. The HYCU team of support and developers have met each issue with importance and some kind of resolution or explanation of help. They have been so supportive even in the not so easy ones. That says something for their product and team behind it.

Customer support is effective once communication is established. A technical support person is required on both sides. The support is extremely knowledgeable and provides detailed support and explanation to any issues, as well as some will provide recommendations to the business needs as there are many different technologies or methods depending on what the business is trying to achieve.

HYCU
This fits Nutanix better than anything I have found. HYCU clearly focuses on personalized service. You can email, call or open a web ticketed, depending on your urgency.

QNAP Systems
Our historical supplier was a QNAP partner so we started with them.
We resell on request also NETGEAR and Synology. Maybe is for the practice on them but we think that they are easier to use and configure.
The thing i can affirm with convinction is that are realy durable! I think i never repaired a QNAP NAS and, we resell them from about 10 years.
They have all the functionality we ever had to our customers.
