Ibexa DXP vs. Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP)

I always recommend Ibexa DXP to my fellows. The only scenario that I would not recommend it is if the site is either too small, too simple, or that they simply cannot afford to stand it up properly.

Liferay Portal is a framework which comes with a fine grained security/permission model, (Web) Content Management, Authentication and Authorization, outbox portlets with different features to manage content or users. So if any business application has below questions then I can recommend not to use Liferay as a platform.

• Application is big but not content or user driven.
• Application with few static contents.
• Application with batch transactions(DB) i.e. insert , update db records in batch.
• Application with ERP capabilities.
• Application with Big Data support.

• Block technology is by far one of my favorite features of the tool. This allows us to quickly layout content in a unique manner with a variety of display options.
• Micro Shareable content blocks allow users to quickly share our content across the web and drive more relevant traffic back to our site.
• Reusable content blocks allow for better management of content throughout the site, ensuring accuracy with a simple update.

• Personalization
• Business to client relationship
• Customer management is better.

• Limited partners when you compare to other solutions (WordPress, Drupal, etc). It took us a while to find a solid, trusted developer.

We are currently using Liferay Portal and plan to keep using it.

It is quite easy to navigate through the backend and also, you can directly work in frontend view. Dynamic content can be created on the fly. Their Landing page features are awesome. You create a page by drag & drop.

They are directly reachable and help you to deal with other services, e.g. if would like to set up a CDN for China or if you would like to integrate a tool like HubSpot. If there is anything you are missing, they help you to find a workaround until they can deliver such items - like local language versions.

Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) feels more professional than other similar products I tried or used. With this, I mainly mean the look or aspect when you are editing, setting or configuring anything in the platform, wether you are setting users, roles, creating new pages, adding components to them, or even configuring server or instance related configurations.

We’ve priced other enterprise products and found Ibexa DXP to be a bit more expensive. However, not enough to dissuade us from staying with the product.

The partner ecosystem is small. However, we've worked with two Ibexa partners over the last 10 years. They were very skilled. They were great companies. We've interviewed other Ibexa partners in North America. We found them all to be professional with solid resumes.

• Overall, Ibexa DXP has met all of our business requirements. I can’t think of anything we haven’t been able to accomplish with Ibexa DXP.
• We do see it as a bit expensive to own and operate. Licensing is a bit pricey.
• Ibexa has stood by [its] product. They have been responsive to all of our requests. That's made a difference in the day-to-day support of the product.

• Its high scalability and flexibility has allowed us to include all essential solutions to meet our business needs while preserving the originality of the brand and helping us to improve the quality of our processes and services within the same friendly and unified environment.
• This powerful platform has allowed us to keep the efforts of all our units aligned, from sales, marketing, operations, support and customer service, in a solid collaborative environment.
