IBM InfoSphere Information Server vs. Plotly Chart Studio

Information Server is extremely useful to replace manual developments that require a lot of coding effort. It significantly increases the productivity of the initial development and the future maintenance of the processes since it has a visual development environment with self-documentation.

[Plotly Chart Studio is] a great tool to make visualizations on a web based portal. For python developers, it can ease of some burden of writing code again and again for the same thing and also refreshing visualizations on old scripts when data changes. • IIS best for ETL ,not ELT , and many and diffrent source systems.
• It also can process big data , unstuctured data
• It is not only DWH , you can use infosphere for analys and see the bigger architecture of your OLTP systems

• Connects to almost every kind of data source like SQL, Excel, MS Access, flat files and more.
• Charts get saved to the repository and are re-used by multiple users.
• No need of manual intervention in order to refresh the charts every time the data gets changed.

• I would be nice to have a new web development environment for DataStage.
• Connectivity Packs such as Pack for SAP Application are a little pricey.
• It is confusing for new developers the possibility of developing jobs using different execution engines such as Parallel or Server.

DataStage is more robust and stable than ODI The ability to perform complex transformations or implement business rules is much more developed in DS

• Productivity of the development of integration processes.
• Better documentation and governance.
• Reduce training costs of various technologies.

• Improvement in productivity as charts can be shared with teams and feedback can be collected, consolidated and incorporated in the design and charts.
• Charts are aligned with the organization theme and colors and one doesn't need to put in effort every time to do that.
• No upfront capital expenditure and minimum user criteria helps the organization to keep the costs down.
