Kiteworks vs. Virtru

Kiteworks is very good for securely sharing files external to your company and doing so without your customers knowing who each other are. The interface is simple and relatively intuitive. We have had some issues in getting timely support from Accellion this past year, but they seem to be doing better lately.

Of all the products out there that integrate with Google, we found Virtru to be the most user-friendly for both our users and the recipients. At the same time, its logging capabilities provide the trail we need for sensitive information. This is one tool for us that has generally been "setup and forget" which helps with the I.T. Dept workload.

• Email encryption without installing or exchange keys with the recipient.
• Email DLP that is easy to configure and maintain.
• Application Gateway that encrypts email sent directly from SaaS application (ex. Zendesk, SalesForce).
• Protect attachment with restriction like time, print, and copy.

• Encrypting our files appears to be less than 100% complete
• Software updates cannot be scheduled to take place automatically like their old product
• Detailed activity logging is not available to administrators. You must submit the logs to Accellion for analysis.

• Native Google Docs file encryption should be improved, it's working great in Google Drive but only for files that are not Google native.

For the one sending/using, I rate a 10. For receiver experience, I would rate it 8, as sometimes there are hiccups. So overall, a 9

The main reason for selecting Kiteworks is that when sharing files with multiple customers, each customer has no idea who the other customers are. To do that in Teams would require users to create a private team for each customer, which would be very [time-consuming].

Full Gmail integration was not a negotiable item for us in our evaluation. Other products provided our needed functionality, but they were outside the standard Gmail interface. That made them more difficult to use, and also less likely to be used. Virtru was the only one we evaluated that actually resided within the Gmail interface, making it very easy to use.

• Before then kitework we used 3 different products. It was expensive and difficult manage.

• Saving manual work and a few steps of the daily work of our reps. saving about 50 hours a month.
• Ensuring customer sensitive info is protected.
• Regulation compliance which would prevent us from doing business.
