Klipfolio

Klipfolio is fantastic for Salesforce reports. I am able to create a report in SFDC and reference it in Klipfolio, then create my visualizations, reports, and dashboards. This really helps me because I am no good with JSON. For ultra-complex reporting needs, it might not be the right way to go. But for us, it is really good. Another great thing is that they offer a free trial of their full-capability platform so you can see if it is the right tool for you before buying.

Zendesk Explore

Zendesk Explore is great if you already use one or more other Zendesk products and/or if you have experience with using Zendesk in the past. It has a bit of a learning curve but has a ton of potential if you or someone on your team can dedicate enough time and energy to learning the product. Similarly to Adobe Suite, all of Zendesk's products flow pretty seamlessly together and the more products you use (and use well, obviously), the more data you can extract.

  • Klipfolio can source the data used from Dropbox to easily incorporate offline data such as targets in Excel files or call center data exported in CSV files.
  • The UI is easy to use while still being very powerful. If you know Excel formulas, you will quickly find your way in Klipfolio.
  • Dashboards created in Klipfolio are automatically resized based on the device used. Even on mobile phones with 5-inch screens, VP can remotely access their business KPIs and have near real-time data.
  • Klipfolio support in excellent. They offer live chat and a very rich QA section. When you first register, you can participate in online training to get you started as quickly as possible.
  • Klipfolio licencing is very affordable.

Zendesk Explore

  • Custom Reports - You can really tailor each query and dashboard with many custom aspects. As soon as you answer one question, you usually have another one! Explore gives the flexibility to refine and tailor your data.
  • Drilling Down - Once you create the big picture dashboards and reports, it's relatively easy to drill down and get the actual list of associated support cases. This is a good validity check to make sure our approach is working.
  • Pre-built dashboards - It helps to get started with what explore has already pulled for you. That way, you have a good baseline from which you can further customize.

  • Onboarding. The process of setting up a new client for a dashboard can be a little tedious.
  • File size upload and third-party integrations. I have been limited to the size of the .csv file we were uploading but we were able to find a workaround.

  • The biggest challenge for me is generally having a better understanding of what is included in each data set. There have been some frustrating moments when I realized the reason I wasn't getting what I needed out of a query was that there was a better data set to use.

The Klip Editor is very easy for non-technical people to begin using, yet is not over-simplified. It is full-featured enough to allow more advanced usage and has excellent documentation if you get stuck

Klipfolio

Klipfolio had the best API. We could connect more MarTech with Klipfolio than any other BI tool we used. Klipfolio's API was also the most stable. We ran into connectivity issues with some of the competitors. The metrics wouldn't refresh because the API lost the connection to the tool. Klipfolio's data aggregation capabilities were better than most. Combining data between different data sets was a big challenge we ran into with other BI tools. Klipfolio was able to bring multiple data sets together into one metric and allow us to aggregate all those data points into a useable metric. Klipfolio also has competitive pricing. The pricing allows us (as an agency) to roll some of the costs into our reporting offerings.

Zendesk Explore

For support data, we have only used Explore because it came with our ZenDesk membership. So I can't speak to other solutions! That said, it's awesome to have Knowledge Base and support data in one place.
