LawGro vs. Orion Practice Management System

I think this is a great tool and offers many features like case management, lead management, and reputation management. So we don't rely on multiple software. If LawGro can also integrate some online payment solution like LawPay, it will help us a lot.

Orion is a great information organizer. It can be used as a CRM for your company as well as a performance tracker. The CRM functions are minimal but do hold pertinent client information. You are able to see real-time performance data, and there is even a client-facing portal if your clients would like to see their performance. While Orion might be hard to figure out, it's a wealth of information and worth figuring out the best case use for your firm.

• Client Intake forms - It is the best. I was able to create the intakes seamlessly in just minutes.
• Document Assembly - It took us a while to take live our internal templates but now we see a lot of advantages and are able to roll out documents quickly in just a few clicks

• Billing
• Synchs well with other programs
• Contains massive contact list
• Keeps up with client payments by user

• Searching case notes for specific keywords is not supported. Will be great to see this feature soon.
• Version control on document assembly is a great feature on LawGro but it does not tags documents with version numbers.
• Approval workflow for invoicing is missing. It will be great to review and approve invoices and time entries before sending to the client.

• Report building could use improvement.
• Report finding and help is hard.
• Cleaner menu dropdown lists.

It is a complex system and difficult to onboard and figure out, BUT once you've got the hang of it, it is a great tool for your company and for your clients. The help desk is responsive and knowledgeable, and does a great job sticking with you through onboarding. There are a lot of options within Orion that can feel overwhelming, but again, the help desk is fantastic.

LawGro has deeper analytics and insights on multiple activities like invoices, payments, team member availability etc. They have an in-built client intake forms and document assembly feature which was critical to our practice.

• Helped us to manage our reputation and client happiness much more professionally and analytically.

• Provides accurate billing information for submission to clients for payments
• Ability to run financial reports
• Contact database is ongoing with new entries and updated information
