Mozilla Firefox vs. SonicWall VPN Clients

Firefox is ideal for users who are tech-proficient and eager to customize their browsing experience to meet exactly their needs. It is best for people who are very contemplative and thoughtful about their experience of using web browsers and want more than an out-of-the-box or clunky experience offered by pre-loaded browsers.

It is well suited in places or scenarios where a VPN client is needed to be used either by IT staff or other employees. SonicWall's VPN Clients are very similar to VPN clients of other companies. SonicWall VPN Clients are meant to be used with SonicWall firewalls.

Does not have a renewal that we pay for by itself. It comes with our firewalls, which we are going to renew.

It can do anything I throw at it. It does not slow down. I cannot remember it ever crashing. Updating is super easy. It's colorful enough to find what I need visually. I can customize the look to make it super usable and fast with muscle memory precision. It's by far easier to use than any other browser.

SonicWall VPN Clients work for the most part. The Global VPN client has had its issues over the years. Also, NetExtender VPN client has had its share of issues. It is nice that SonicWall VPN Clients has updated the GUI of the NetExtender client within the last year, which has made it easier for our users to use.

Phone support has been very reliable and useful, but there have been times when better support documentation would have made that call unnecessary. I like to tackle problems internally if I can, as it tends to save time and usually money. The SonicWall VPN Clients system seems to be pretty locked down as far as being accessible to self-manage.

Mozilla Firefox stacks up very well alongside similar products. There has not been a feature I have needed that a similar product had that was lacking from Mozilla Firefox. The product has been developed very well and updates have been effective at maintaining security. I have been a long-time user of Mozilla Firefox and have no reason to change.

We started the process of vetting Norton VPN, but since it wasn't available from our preferred vendor, we ended up going with SonicWall VPN Clients by default.
