Nearpod vs. TestInvite

Nearpod is great for teachers who want data to help gauge how engaged students are during lessons. Additionally, teachers in one-to-one schools can better use these tools with a lesson delivery system like Nearpod. Nearpod is especially effective when a presenter has to deliver information to a large class.

Our needs are really well met by Test Invite. Of particular note is the fact that Test Invite provides contemporary methods to assess the knowledge and skills of the test takers. In our field, it is imperative to understand the oral language skills of potential students. With the use of video and audio recording supported questions, we can gain more insight into our students' needs so that we can tailor our services to them better. For language testing, Test Invite really allows the school to reliably collect, analyze and report on essential data needed from students. There are some usability issues with the platform, however, Test Invite has been working diligently to improve on these areas and add additional functionality.

• Provide timely and individualized feedback.
• Allow for the teacher to check for understanding, for the entire class, in one view.
• Present an array of different interactive lesson items, at the fingertips of every student.

While there is some learning curve to fully understand and know how to lead a lesson with Nearpod, once mastered successfully, Nearpod lessons are simple to create and deliver. When leading a lesson, it is relatively simple to see how everyone in the class performs and how well they participate and understand.

It's easy to use.

The support staff for Nearpod is top-notch. I have not had technical issues, but I did have a concern about my bill and they reached out to me nearly immediately to address the problem. I was very satisfied with how they handled the interaction from beginning to end. They did a great job.

This is the most appreciated part of working with Test Invite over the last 2 years. Support was always timely, congenial, effective, and never challenging in terms of response rate or quality of reaction. Our counterpart on the Test Invite side has practically become a member of our team, as they are always extremely involved and ready to provide value while becoming very clear on our needs.

I don't know of a product off hand that does what Nearpod can do. Between the library of pre-made lessons, the ability to create your own lesson content, the ability to add interactive content, Nearpod offers a unique engagement platform for instruction

I spend a LOT of time researching alternatives. Many required high upfront payments and did not have the functionality I needed. Test Invite was the first platform I tried and I was very happy with it!

• The impact is awesome. It gives students a digital option other than PowerPoint for presentations.
• The feedback tool allows you to follow students in realtime.
• The shallow learning curve made it easy encourage other faculty to try it.

• Students who complete a full placement test before starting their lessons are 80% more likely to continue with lessons after a trial lesson.
• Students and parents have expressed extreme gratitude to our school for providing them with detailed and complete information about their English level.
