Nearpod Closes the Distances in Education.
Overall Satisfaction with Nearpod
We use Nearpod to effectively deliver classroom lessons to students and for professional development sessions. Nearpod allows us to provide lesson information and activities while enabling the presenter to monitor the progress of his/her audience during the presentation. Nearpod improves the classroom management abilities of every presenter while providing a record for review and tracking lesson effectiveness after concluding the presentation.
Pros
- Nearpod is excellent for providing control during presentations.
- Nearpod creates easy-to-use analytics both in real-time and after a presentation has concluded.
- Nearpod is a wonderful engagement tool to help increase group participation during a lesson.
- Nearpod helps provide data for improved presentation refinement.
Cons
- The notes feature in Nearpod sometimes has bugs that can be bothersome.
- The free version of Nearpod is limited, and missing some of my most favored features.
- Becoming proficient at lesson creation outside of Google Slides can take some time until you have mastered the learning curve.
- The number of teachers in my school who regularly use Nearpod has tripled this school year.
- Teachers have found a noticeable increase in student engagement during classroom lessons.
- Using Nearpod has helped teachers track student performance during lessons instead of having to give tests and quizzes to gauge student understanding accurately.
Outside of Miro, Nearpod is my favorite program for leading a lesson. If I am presenting, and not requiring my students to perform any activities, then I really like Miro for presentations. If I have a large class, then I still prefer Nearpod to all others. Additionally, the more certain I am of what I want to do when, the more I like using Nearpod for lessons.
