oneSafe vs. SplashID

Well suited to password Management and making documents with password protection -- Something that most of their competitors don’t have. You can also have multiple types of passwords (numbers, figures, letters, patterns), which is something nice.

SplashID is really only well suited if you are looking to store passwords offline on your own server. There is no risk of them being leakedin a large scale breach of SplashID, but then it is only up to your security. Since it is not stored online, there is also not a way to restore the master password, so don't forget it!

• It has some features that aren’t useful at all. I mean that there are some features that are not used frequently.
• The Mac prices are a little bit elevated compared with their competition.
• They should do the UI a little bit more formally.

• Tabbing through password creation is not intuitive
• The app is slow at unlocking to reveal passwords
• There are a limited number of fields you can use for each password making it difficult if you have lots of information to store about one app
• It is not easy to categorize passwords and stay orginized

SplashID is pretty usable, but there are definitely some key downfalls. Like I previously mentioned, it lacks easy organization. It is also not very user friendly to enter passwords. The password generation tool could use some additional options to remove certain special characters because on more than one occasion I have had to adjust a password to remove a prohibited special character.

I actually use both, but both have different special features. Of course, the password management is the same, but for example, the in-app document password protection of OneSafe is Amazing. I still use both, just as a backup (you never know when an app could fail).

SplashID is not nearly as comprehensive as LastPass. LastPass is much easier to orginize and create folders for certain categories. It is also easier to launch logins stored in the vault. The only benefit SplashID provides is that you can store passwords offline. SplashID is better on the pocket book because it is a one time fee where LastPass is subscription based.

• SplashID keeps our passwords off the cloud
• SplashID allows us to have unique passwords for each app without having to remember them or store them in an unsecured manner
