OpenText Identity and Access Management vs. UserLock

Suited for complex identity journeys involving multiple identity constituents like customers, employees, extended enterprise users (e.g., agents, partners, vendors). OpenText Identity and Access Management (IAM) Platform, formerly Covisint, is not suited for on-premises-based IAM implementations.

UserLock is well suited to easily managing MFA for users of various levels to improve security hardening in a granular manner. It's open ended implementation of the IIS module is good for web authentication of all sorts of sites. Reporting of user's access and notifying of multiple logons is great.

• Good personnel/team
• Small company type customer service gives ease of access and sense of urgency

• Easy to setup and install for the most part
• Easy to onboard users
• Logging and reporting of user's access to devices really good

• Additional automation capabilities on the platform
• More configuration-driven approach

• Implementing the agent in IIS scenarios could be easier and more guided
• IIS upgrade agent upgrade process could be improved upon
• An overall summary of applied permssions for a particular user would be useful

OKTA Oracle Cloud Based Identity Platforms Salesforce IAM We did an open RFP and technology bakeoff for all providers, which including advanced IoT use cases, delegated admin use cases, and multiple password policy (13 independent use cases) in a two-week window. We were looking for configuration vs. customization capabilities inherent in the platforms. OpenText Identity and Access Management (IAM) Platform was the only provider that completed all the uses cases and provided a demo

sorry was quite some time ago and can't remmber specifics but cost was a big factor and this was a very competitively priced product at the time.

• Support team has excelled and exceeded expectations
• Team has been nimble and flexible
• Costs continue to accelerate on lack of product featrures

• Sometimes does not unlock task manager access when it pops up with MFA prompt, can be a pain to have to undo
• It's great value for money compared to more high end products
• Generally reliable and has improved security hardening
