Preseem vs. Spiceworks Connectivity Dashboard

For any ISP that wants to know the QoE their customers experience while using their service, Preseem is an excellent choice. The rate plan shaping also makes sure the connection feels fast, even if the speeds are being 100% utilized by the customer. This is not a DPI service though, so you can't classify or shape certain services over others. All traffic is treated fairly, and small flows are moved to the front of the queue to make sure interactive traffic like VOIP, DNS, and gaming is working well ahead of large downloads.

hassle free of IT resources is plus point. Monitoring the external resources related to Websites, service provider links or any hosted applications is a great feature in Spiceworks Connectivity Dashboard. Alert reporting on monitored resources is at ease. Integration with custom devices needs to be improved. devices integrated with snmp protocol is not reported with full details which needs to be rectified by Spiceworks Connectivity Dashboard.

• Graphical real time data of condition of our network.
• Real-time data of network performance, network-wide, tower site-wide, sector-wide, and down to the subscriber level. Data that is both current and historical so we can see trends happening before a service-impacting issue arises.
• The comparison of our network equipment performance compared to identical equipment that others have deployed throughout their entire customer base.

• The tool could stand to be a little less engineered, but really the ROI isn't there for them to do so. I don't think most of us care about how pretty it looks, more so does it work and can I figure it out in relatively short order.

• Integration with custom devices needs to be improved
• providing more insight of device is required when added to monitoring list
• the feel and look of dashboard needs some improvement
• Agent is resource hungry, to be made light weight for systems

Any Amplifi product can show client infrastructure usage and date. the Dream Machine is perfect because it has built-in everything for the client to manage his local network.

Spiceworks Network Monitor being a free tool, can easily be overtaken against any other product which is cost involved and most of the features are available which are provided by any leading network monitoring tool available in the market. Few of the features which are not present in spiceworks tool (like autodiscovery of resources) needs to be added which will give a great competition for the product. Alerting features, response tickets, sending alerts via email is one of the great features in the product

• Best money we have ever spent on technology
• Night and day difference in application performance after Preseem was implemented.
• Key tool for customer satisfaction.

• if on premises cannot be deployed on Linux environment which needs windows license requirement
• competitive price makes easy for decision
• lacking in auto discovery of devices is the most negative point for ROI
