Ranorex vs. Rapise

Personally I rate it a 10 from my own experience, but from a company perspective, I would drop that to perhaps an 8. This is because while I have fun while finding it extremely easy to use and comprehensive enough, there have been times that relative to the project currently in works, Ranorex has not performed due to its shortcomings. If asked though I would certainly fully recommend Ranorex to a potential user, especially to someone less skilled in this field.

The appropriate scenario to use Rapise is when we have a project that is considered from medium onwards, since Rapise will help us to define, develop and implement the testing phase in a reliable and efficient way. Also with Rapise we will not have to worry about the platform that we are using since it has great versatility and flexibility.

• Initial setup.
• User guide.
• Getting money from customers.

• Simple recording front-end and easily captures UI objects for later interaction
• Flexible programming interface provides a multitude of manners in which to interact with learned UI objects
• Javascript based IDE is easy to learn

• Language support is limited, c# and Vb.net only if i remember correctly compared to other tools which allow many more. This addition would certainly be appreciated if added on in a company like mine with a variety of differently skilled individuals
• Paid license. This is not always preferred. A free version without a limited trial but maybe limited features would be appreciated.

• For tests that require specific approaches it is necessary to have advanced knowledge of programming in javascrip, which sometimes the QA team does not have experience
• Sometimes I have noticed that when using object dragging errors occur intermittently
• The integration with some tools (Dynamics) is only with the basic functions from my point of view

I suppose my experience is sort of mixed. Help documents are substantially helpful. I personally have not got the quickest responses from Ranorex support but at the same time, they are pretty good with updating their users frequently with info about their product/s and features. The community is really where I find support and I suppose that could look to be an extension of the product itself.

We have used Selenium as well. This has picked up more steam than Ranorex if i have to be honest.

Mmuch better from a flexibility perspective

• We were left without a working solution so the whole project had to been stopped.

• The primary objective of the institution is a service to the public, so everything that improves response times to the public helps us to achieve it.
• As a department in charge of the development of systems and applications, our objective is fulfilled by delivering quality products and tools such as Rapise help us greatly
• The return on investment can be more than justified by fulfilling the primary objectives
