SAP
In ERP solutions that lacked quite a lot of warehouse management functionality, a lot ot companies decide to implement an EWM solution fully integrated in the IT landscape with integration using SAP PI/PO to ECC/ERP systems, meeting business expectations and regulatory requirements towards government data submission, compliance requirements, and making it a strong End-to-End business process. So it strongly meets business requirements for enabling end-to-end business processes to manage the cash cycle.

Cons
SAP
  • Batch management must be more flexible
  • Queues which gets stuck, there must be much more details to fix it
  • KBA must be published and available to support customer fix the issues by themselves
  • Once the IBD gets distributed to SAP Extended Warehouse Management we will not be able to edit anything in S4H this makes it complex to handle it, it must be flexible

Usability
SAP
I think it's a good WMS product providing end to end features from basic to advanced - I have reduced 30% for lack of usability for smaller organizations, multi sku smaller volume cases, lack of free training material, lack of inbuilt guidance and training, heavy reliance on external consulting firm. So, this result in lack of proper adoption post implementation.

Alternatives Considered
SAP
For SAP-centric businesses and IT organizations, considering long-term maintenance and implementation ROI, EWM proved a stronger fit than peers in the category. While the ease of implementation, cost of implementation, and maintenance were very close, EWM was a better functional fit, looking at current requirements and future plans. The EWM roadmap was critical due to changing regulations.

SAP
  • We just started to use it so the benefits are not yet clearly visible
  • In the future I see that we can save work hours when we get all the functionalities working as we want
