What was once a great product is now so broken it's barely useable

Rating: 1 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to process sales, to collect website opt-in and customer data, to maintain specific sales data lists, to send out emails and newsletters, to collect data on open rates and to send out autoresponders. Right now it is functioning so poorly it is causing incalculable harm to my business.

Pros

  • maintains specific customer lists when it is working, which it currently is not
  • sends out emails and newsletters and allows for recording open rates, BUT NO LONGER A RECORD OF CUSTOMERS CLICKING ON A LINK in an email or newsletter
  • takes credit card payments using Paypal, among others, to process them
  • can be programmed to send out autoresponders, when it works

Cons

  • Maintenance of the various aforementioned functions is so poor they often no longer function and there is no way to get anyone to repair them
  • [In my experience] there is no competent and knowledgeable customer service, and those who are there are extremely poorly trained and unable to help - if you can even reach them
  • Restore the ability to track whether or not a reader clicked on a link in an email or newsletter. Even better, which one did they click on? This function was discontinued several years ago.
  • Even better than that, allow for two or more links with totally different products or actions and track them separately
  • The person I have who is dealing with it says it is seriously antiquated and needs a complete overhaul. Update the whole thing into a 21st-century product.

Likelihood to Recommend

Right now it isn't well suited for anything [in my opinion]. It is not being maintained and many of the important functions one got it for in the first place simply do not work and no one is doing anything about it. A number of my colleagues use it too and we are all looking for an alternative. I'd never recommended it to anyone and have steered clients and colleagues away from it.

1ShoppingCart Review for eCommerce Professionals

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This product was used within a single team as part of a larger organization. The main use for 1ShoppingCart was to provide a seamless checkout process across an eCommerce site experience from product ordering to cross-selling, marketing and other value added messaging. All of which can be managed by the user themselves as they go through the entire user experience on the website (signing up, adjusting preferences, etc.).

Pros

  • Manages the ins and outs of a payment process
  • Direct integration with many marketing platforms for quick data sharing
  • Ability to add additional marketing messaging to the process and further cross-sell

Cons

  • Cart personalization is a bit difficult for those that do not know HTML
  • The templates in the tool are not very mobile friendly
  • There are not enough template/theme options readily available

Likelihood to Recommend

1ShoppingCart is very well suited for anyone looking for an easy to use solution for their eCommerce site. The entire checkout process from design to actual checkout functionality is all there and does not require a 3rd party solution to integrate directly into your website. From order management to upsell opportunities, this tool can provide very good results for any eCommerce business!

A solid, trusted CRM

Rating: 6 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use this product for clients who are list building. We help small companies with web development and set up of CRM systems. 1ShoppingCart was the first CRMs that we set up for clients. We still have a couple of clients utilizing it and we support them on a weekly basis.

Pros

  • Email broadcasts are super easy with 1ShoppingCart
  • Affiliate set up and management is easy

Cons

  • The UI needs improvement. There are other systems out there that are more intuitive.
  • Customizing/branding a shopping cart page can be a little tricky - when it should be very simple.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's really user preference. Some people have been told by other colleagues that it's a great system to use so they want to go with that. There are other systems that do exactly the same thing. I have not found that 1ShoppingCart has any unique features that would lead me to persuade a client to use it over another one. I usually have clients look at two or three options and give feedback. Sometimes it comes down to monthly prices.

1ShoppingCart Best Choice for Entrepreneurs

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I recommend 1ShoppingCart to clients for ecommerce and email marketing needs. These are primarily entrepreneurs in the coaching niche. It is used for shopping cart services, email marketing and affiliate management. It is a reliable program and user friendly for a solopreneur while still including many features they need as they grow their business.

Pros

  • Email Marketing - Easy to use templates but you can also use your custom html template.
  • Managing your list - It is easy to set up separate lists and create opt in forms for each one. It allows multiple opt in forms with customized messages for all steps of the opt in process.
  • Ecommerce - Setup of your product or service is easy. You can use buy now type buttons on the 1ShoppingCart store. Integration with your merchant account or Paypal is offered.
  • Includes an affiliate management option. This module allows you to manage an affiliate with custom links and an area to post materials for affiliates to use - such as banners.

Cons

  • Customer Service - You have to pay in order to speak to a live customer service rep.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need an ecommerce, email marketing and affiliate program - it is great to have this all in one solution. Larger businesses with many employees in remote locations may need a different solution. If you do not need ecommerce or affiliate, you can use a lower cost program that costs less. The learning curve is short for a solo entrepreneur with some technical knowledge.

1ShoppingCart Review from Virtual Team Member's Point of View

Rating: 4 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I've used 1ShoppingCart as a VA for a few different online companies. I've used it to support with customer service questions, adding and updating different products, managing newsletters lists, sending broadcasts for newsletters, creating coupon codes and updating customer profiles. It helps us to manage our contacts, access customer information to reach out to them through customer service inquiries and manage and track products and programs to see which are doing the best and which are less popular with our customers.

Pros

  • Access to contact information and creating customer profiles - good for reaching out through customer service, accessing email address, address and detailed information on the client helpful for responding quickly and easily
  • Able to add products and programs through auto responders - able to help share information with different groups of people easily and based on specific options within 1ShoppingCart
  • Easy to create coupon codes and pass to customers or add to website or newsletter for specific time ranges and products
  • Simple to add different products and sell easily with the integrated shopping cart
  • Great tool for multiple users to use and work as a virtual team based on different tasks and range that 1ShoppingCart has
  • Ability to create detailed reports based on sales, customers, and so much more. Very helpful for planning.

Cons

  • I found their customer service team to be confusing with their responses and not as helpful as other products customer service teams. It can be frustrating to try to decipher their responses to more complicated questions and often felt a little 'annoying' whenever I needed to reach out.
  • When creating newsletters, I found the WYSIWYG (what you see if what you get) version of creating newsletters the formatting was almost always off which always resulted in needing to send tests to myself to fix the formatting because it never showed up as it would look when it was sent. That took a lot of extra time to edit.
  • Lots of different options with reports, as a beginner you may need someone else to support you. In the beginning I needed support from other team members in how to understand and create certain reports. Not the most intuitive and user friendly until you understand what you're doing!

Likelihood to Recommend

I find that people who own product based businesses do well with 1ShoppingCart. If you are offering products you'd like to sell right from your website, this is a great option. However, there are some things to be aware of, it isn't as easy to sell directly to segmented lists. You'll have to manually segment the lists rather than having more intuitive options. There are other things about 1SC that I really like and definitely see its benefits for sure. Many people I know who use this service are highly product based and its important that they have a reliable cart that works easily and without problems.

I don't see 1ShoppingCart as the best option for someone who owns a coaching or consulting business. There may be too many options and since these businesses are based on the list, I'd recommend another service to get more for your unique situation. It's important to look at what you are looking for in your service - are you looking for streamlined marketing avenues and integrated cart with customer service options? Then 1SC may not be the best option.

Great choice for ecommerce ability

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

1ShoppingCart is being used by myself as well as my clients.

Pros

  • The connectivity between the merchant account and products is seamless.
  • The ability to have an autoresponder send out an email immediately after signup is key.
  • The ability to have an affiliate program is connected directly through the cart portal and easy to use.
  • We like the ability to have recurring payments.

Cons

  • The ability to have email templates would be a nice addition to 1shoppingcart.
  • Do not like the fact that we pay a good price each month for 1ShoppingCart but yet we have to pay for customer service calls. This is something that is frustrating.
  • The help forum is very frustrating and doesn't always give the answer that I am looking for, therefore the need to call customer service and pay a fee has to happen.

Likelihood to Recommend

I like the affiliate program. When referring a new client I will get a commission off of their purchase.
