Adobe Connect Expert Level Learning Experiences

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I work as a webinar producer on Adobe Connect, we use the seminar version for several webinars each week. The platform is an efficient way to deliver a consistent experience using templated layouts for a universal learning experience for all of the networks learners. Each webinar we run has the sample pods, layouts, polls and chat available. As producers we then are able to easily alter the layouts for customizing the experience for our session leaders. Easily adding polls, or other interactive elements. The platform allows for more interactivity than any other virtual meeting/webinar platform I've seen on the market.

Pros

  • Custom layouts to guide the learners attention to various elements of the event.
  • Interactive polls, handout pods, chat options that can be filtered and reported out post session.
  • Cues in the attendee pod to see who is in through app, browser, and to see how they've connected via phone or mic...helps in troubleshooting as a producer

Cons

  • PPTs are rendered in a pod, and sometimes fonts aren't rendered correctly, changes line breaks and font sizes.
  • Notes section for PPTs could use a font resize option to remain redable.
  • Ability to turn on / off the back stage individually rather than for the group of hosts/presenters.

Likelihood to Recommend

Adobe Connect is wonderful for repeatable branded learning experiences or webinars. They allow for creating an event with a series of similar layouts. The ability to alter these are easy, and duplicating layouts makes for fast alterations. Changing between layouts also creates visual interest as learners see things shift.

Adobe Connect also is great for accessibility, the captions allow for resizing and placing the captions in various sections. The recordings also can have a searchable transcript to get to the information you want fast.

Adobe Connect allows for running fun games/events as well, there are lots of apps that make the experience unique, and allows for managing content on screen as you'd like.

An Excellent Product Only Held Back by Company Subscription Strategies

Rating: 2 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We chose Adobe Connect because it was the best way to execute our product design, marketing strategies, and visual storytelling efforts all through a cohesive and integrated software universe.

Pros

  • Top level design tools and options
  • Integration of software with other products
  • Leader in format shareability and common utilization

Cons

  • Pricing is expensive
  • Subscription plans at times don’t seem transparent and even exploitive
  • Tools are incredible but also need a level of experience and expertise.

Likelihood to Recommend

The best scenarios are companies that employ or can afford to employ top notch designers and afford the service pricing being offered. For others, the pricing model can be exclusive, hard to understand, and the value of the software being offered also becomes far underutilized because of lack of expertise and knowledge.

Adobe Connect Allows for Nice Accessibility for Webinars

Rating: 6 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have used Adobe Connect to host webinars for training programs we provide. We have always offered webinars for training, but COVID caused us to shift everything on-line for a season. Connect has allowed us to provide training to a large number of people all at one time without having to travel when were not able to do so.

Pros

  • I like how Connect's pods are clearly separated on the screen so webinar attendees have everything broken out nicely for them to see.
  • Connect allows us to easily mute and unmute individuals by looking at that pod where a bunch of names are displayed.
  • Connect allows us to be able to upload all materials (Power Points, other documents, etc) before the webinar and then pull them up as needed during the webinar. It also allowed us to do other things on our computer when hosting a webinar. Some other webinar platforms "take over" your computer and limits being able to multi-task.

Cons

  • At our organization we ended up having to connect a separate phone/audio line that allowed people the option of listening by phone. We don't need to do that with Zoom.
  • Uploading files seemed to take a decent amount of time using Connect, which meant we needed to start preparing for webinars sooner than what we wanted to.
  • Connect seemed to freeze up quite a bit on us while we have not had that issue when using Zoom as much.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think overall I felt very comfortable using Connect. Web accessibility is of utmost importance to my organization and we were able to hire live captioners and then connected to a captioning to provide the service with no issues for the most part.

As far as getting people used to using Connect for attending webinars, we often had to provide a tech intro. I think, part of this is because people are not as familiar with it compared with Zoom. Zoom's layout is more common for people and I think they feel comfortable with it more.

  • Breakout rooms.
  • Ability to create multiple pods.

Cons

  • Stability of the platform.
  • Metrics & dashboards.
  • Inbuilt surveys.

Adobe Connect is a great platform for the design and rollout of interactive programs. And it could do better in metrics and dashboards, improve platform stability and capability to host in-house surveys.

Engage and Collaborate from Anywhere and Everywhere

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

When providing live and on-demand training sessions for our business partners, utilizing Adobe Connect has made all the difference in being able to create a virtually engaging learning environment that allows both facilitators and participants to exercise creativity during the learning and development process. Other platforms commonly used in our and other organizations work well for meetings, but Adobe Connect allows us as facilitators to create that in-person feel and have the same level of engagement and collaboration that so often seems to be absent from virtual spaces.

Pros

  • Love how you can create custom layouts ahead of time and seamlessly change from one to another during a session.
  • There are so many creative ways to use the whiteboard features.
  • Being able to keep participants in one layout while you go into other layouts and make changes, updates, etc. has been incredibly helpful.
  • The breakout rooms have endless use cases.

Cons

  • I wish Adobe provided the audio directly to the customer rather than requiring an outside telecom provider be selected if you want audio beyond VOIP.
  • It's nice to be able to upload PPT presentations into a share pod, but if the PPT is more than basic, I find several animations, fonts, etc. are not supported, completely changing the way the presentation comes across. This makes it impossible for me to utilize the feature most of the time and a screen share is the next best option.

Likelihood to Recommend

If Adobe Connect is utilized internally at an organization, it would be an excellent way to get people comfortable and familiar with all of the tools built into the system. We utilize with external clients and have found a few challenges we have been able to overcome, but challenges none the less. We find accessing Adobe Connect through the application provides the best experience, but many outside clients will not allow the application to be downloaded immediately. So many of our participants attend through the browser version and can run into bandwidth issues.

Virtually In-Person!

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Connect as our platform for training clients. This includes multiple pods, breakout rooms, and interactive note pads.

The biggest problem is sometimes the animations that were created in PowerPoint will not be viewed in Connect and will not do what was expected.

Pros

  • Breakout rooms.
  • Multiple pods.
  • User friendly.

Cons

  • Animation from imported PowerPoint.
  • Multi Camera function.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's great for large training groups that need to create an in-class feel to a virtual class. It's not good for groups that want to use cameras.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Since our personnel are separated geographically, we use it for collaboration and training. We hold meetings and team building. It is better than Microsoft Teams because we have more freedom to customize and keep all content.

Pros

  • Hosting meeting.
  • Collaboration.
  • File/content storage.

Likelihood to Recommend

For our team, Adobe Connect has help with keeping our team connected and sharing files is much easier. The ability to have breakout rooms have been beneficial.
