What is Akto?

Akto’s Agentic AI Security platform helps security teams discover AI activity, continuously red team AI systems, and enforce runtime guardrails across MCP servers, AI agents, and GenAI applications.

It brings workforce AI usage and internally developed AI applications under one security program, giving teams visibility into what is running, identifying vulnerabilities, and stopping risky behavior before sensitive data or systems are exposed.

Akto delivers these capabilities through two purpose-built products:

1. Akto Atlas for Employees

A tool to discover and secure how employees use AI across browsers, desktop applications, terminals, IDEs, and endpoint devices.

Atlas gives security teams an inventory of the AI tools, agents, MCP servers, plugins, skills, and connectors being used across the workforce. It detects developers running MCP servers locally, surfaces shadow or unmanaged AI activity, and shows where each component came from and who is using it.

With Atlas, teams can:

  • Discover AI tools, agents, MCP servers, plugins, and skills across employee devices

  • Identify locally running, unknown, or unauthorized MCP servers

  • Detect shadow AI usage across browsers, desktop apps, terminals, and IDEs

  • Find malicious plugins, poisoned skills, and risky MCP configurations

  • Monitor prompts, responses, tool calls, and agent actions

  • Detect prompt injection, sensitive-data exposure, credential leakage, and memory poisoning

  • Redact or block sensitive information before it reaches an AI model

  • Enforce consistent AI security policies across the workforce

2. Akto Argus for Homegrown AI

Discover, test, and protect the AI agents, MCP servers, APIs, and GenAI applications built by anyone in an organization.

Argus gives security teams a centralized view of internally developed AI systems and continuously tests them for exploitable weaknesses. It helps teams identify prompt injection, jailbreaks, data leakage, excessive permissions, unsafe tool use, model abuse, and other agentic AI risks before attackers can exploit them.

With Argus, teams can:

  • Inventory homegrown AI agents, MCP servers, models, APIs, and GenAI applications

  • Continuously red team AI applications with automated security tests

  • Test prompts, responses, retrieval pipelines, tools, and agent workflows

  • Detect prompt injection, jailbreaks, system-prompt leakage, and sensitive-data exposure

  • Identify unauthorized tool calls, excessive agency, and unsafe agent actions

  • Enforce runtime guardrails across prompts, responses, tool calls, and agent behavior

  • Block malicious requests and redact sensitive data in real time

  • Track findings and remediation across development and security teams

  • Map AI risks to frameworks such as the OWASP Agentic AI Top 10 and MITRE ATLAS

Together, Akto Atlas and Akto Argus help organizations secure the complete AI attack surface, from the AI tools employees adopt to the agents and GenAI applications the business builds.
