AppNeta is awesome for getting site-to-site statistics or trying to find out why at 3 am every night, this server loses connectivity to another server in a different data center. But we have found the multiple bugs in the hardware hard to deal with when the devices are a 4-hour plane ride away and require someone to console into the device.

We currently use PathView, one of the many product lines offered by AppNeta, to monitor our business critical services such as our primary web presence (www), customer portal pages, and administrative applications. The data collected with AppNeta provides a two-fold insight by supplying performance data over time and uptime statistics to meet our business objectives.
AppNeta provides great longitudinal data regarding how the applications perform including an overall grade or "AppDex."
AppNeta sends notifications of service downtime that aids in technical dispatch.
Cons
AppNeta could bundle all of their applications together. We received a demo for TraceView which allows insight on specific DB & API calls which is very valuable, but was not part of our original agreement/pricing structure.
