Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is used to train engineers on new technology. I use it to keep informed on new ways and methods for keeping the organizations we support secure.

Pros

  • Multiple trainers on the site
  • Practice knowledge tests
  • Videos length makes it easier to fit into the schedule.
  • Quality trainers, with real experience.

Cons

  • While the trainers are good, sometimes their accent make them hard to understand.
  • More practice questions at the end that simulate the certification test.
  • Perhaps a score card that with those questions that tell you where to spend more time training.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is great for the technical field in learning new technologies and expanding knowledge for certifications. In a smaller company where they are just looking at one certification, it might be better to buy just training for that at another vendor instead of the monthly fees.

Good learning platform with room for improvement!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used CBT Nuggets as a learning platform to help me in my IT Certification goals.

I completed some courses (ENCOR, ENARSI, PCAP and Microsoft ones) and achieved most of my goals.

Pros

  • Video courses
  • Learning Community
  • Accountability Coaching

Cons

  • Practice Exams
  • More practical labs

Likelihood to Recommend

I liked the video courses in there, specially the ones related to Cisco.

I got my Cisco ENCOR, PCAP and many Microsoft Certifications that CBT Nuggets helped a lot to achieve those goals.

The accountability coaching is amazing, and my IT Coach is awesome! I liked a lot to have somebody to talk about the struggles that I was facing with my career and studies.

There are some room for improvement like update the courses in a frequently manner (AZ-900 was very outdated when I took the course), and add more labbing exercises. I failed once in Cisco ENARSI exam and I felt that the course should have more labs to gain more hands-on experience. And also I would like to have updated F5 Networks courses.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

CBT Nuggets is used as a training platform for

training employees and interns for various IT certifications and other skills in my organization. Having a

modular approach to the learning system, this tool solves many learning

challenges that employee faces like not having time to complete long training

videos or attend regular classes, etc., For businesses it also covers the

upskilling process of employees as well as smoothening the learning curve in organization.

Pros

  • It provides modular learning experience.
  • It have features like virtual labs that could be quickly deployed.
  • Focused learning environment.
  • Quizzes and Usage Reporting.

Cons

  • Learners engagement with the content needs to be improved.
  • User Interface could be made better.
  • Coding IDE could be added for testing code snippets.
  • Live Group Class could be added.
  • More customization options in reporting could be a plus.
  • Categorization by career path could be added.

Likelihood to Recommend

CBT Nuggets is well suited for people who need

to learn in nuggets/small packets, business professionals on the run, and those

who need modular content for a wide range of topics. This is also suitable for

people/employees looking for upskilling, certification exams, or business growth.

It is also suited to large organizations that want to upskill their workforce.

This might not be suited for people looking for supplementary content, or people

attending regular in-class educational/training, sessions as this provides

comprehensive content rather than supplementary content. Also not suited for those who are looking for written materials for training like

books, notes, ppt, etc.

CBT Nuggets and On-Demand training

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I started using CBT Nuggets in my last job and suggested it for my current position. The training courses/videos are great and love that they are usually broken down to 10-15 minute segments which makes it slightly easier to squeeze in a video or two during downtime. It's great with multiple licenses to distribute accounts throughout your organization accordingly for a fraction of the cost an actual 5-day course.

Pros

  • It's on-demand. You can take zero or 100 courses for the same price and at your own convenience.
  • Courses are organized extremely well and instructors are great.
  • You can cover a wide range of training topics - Microsoft, Networking, database, ETC.
  • You can go back and re-watch videos to get a better understanding.

Cons

  • Because it is on-demand, it's difficult to carve out time to dedicate to training.
  • I've had trouble with following along with some of the lab exercises.
  • It's rare, but videos can freeze up. You'll need to close the tab and start over.

Likelihood to Recommend

Many Microsoft servers and Cisco networking topics are covered which suits me best. Some IT topics are not covered as opposed to other training platforms. Things that require a hands-on lab can be difficult to simulate as well.
