What is Cisco Cloud Object Storage (COS)?

Cisco Cloud Object Storage (COS) provides distributed, resilient, high-performance storage and retrieval of binary large object (blob) data. Object storage is distributed across a cluster of hardware systems, or nodes. The storage cluster is resilient against hard drive failure within a node and against node failure within a cluster. Nodes can be added to or removed from the cluster to adjust cluster capacity as needed.

We are using Cisco Cloud Object Storage (COS) for storing the backups and archiving the old data. We are also using it as an attachment storage for a few of the applications that require frequent file storage, like our account and billing departments. Some of the applications are based on the data retrieval from the Cisco Cloud Object Storage (COS) via REST APIs.

IBM's cloud product support is top-notch all around. In most cases, having IBM's support is preferable, however the cloud documentation and training video are adequate for self-guided assistance. When compared to those of IBM's main rivals, its development communities pale in comparison. It may take some time for the communities to respond to a question that is really unique. A simple interface and reliable call home functionality. This software streamlines otherwise complex processes, such as managing certificates, and integrates smoothly into an Active Directory setting.

When compared to competing cloud storage options, it's far less complicated to utilize for transferring data.
