Cisco Duo - MSPs Secret Weapon

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Cisco Duo as the primary MFA system internally and also to protect our client's infrastructure. The primary business problem we faced was the need to centrally manage all the various accounts for our clients in a single space. Something Cisco Duo did right from the ground up: a single pane to get it all done with minimal effort. Thank you Duo

Pros

  • Consolidated access for multiple accounts
  • Technical Support a breeze
  • Easy configuration

Cons

  • Pricing of the upper tier product could be a bit cheaper

Likelihood to Recommend

Cisco Duo is perfect for any environment! From protecting a single resource to protecting all the clients of a large MSP. It can be scaled very quickly and administration is a breeze through a single interface. Initial configuration is kept as simple as possible for a product of this nature and the support documentation is ample.

Cisco Duo MFA Product Review

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Cisco Duo is used when our users log into their Desktops, it prompts them for a Cisco Duo key, which in our case is sent via their cell phones. Also, we use Cisco Duo to secure our Student Management system and our Staff / HR systems. We are planning to roll out application control requiring Cisco Duo as well. It is a very powerful tool, which we have had to carefully deploy so we do not block out entire groups, or make it very tedious logging into applications.

Pros

  • It works very well with workstation authentication.
  • It works very well with VPN client authentication.
  • It is very stable for applications, such as HR department access
  • It is a very stable tool for wireless network access.

Cons

  • Our biggest issue is if someone forgets their cell phone, they need to either contact us to be put in bypass (which allows them access for a short time) or they can generate keys to be used if they lose their phone or have no wifi.
  • If a client is in an area where their is no access to Wi-Fi, often they need to go to a location to get Wi-Fi to complete the login procedure.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is a very compete and solid solution Once it is in place, and you have configured the different settings and policies it is consistent and works well. It does take some time to work the kinks out. We had a Cisco support provider assist us while we stepped through the process of getting it set up.
