Cvent Abstract Management has proven to be a valuable tool for streamlining the process of collecting, reviewing, and approving abstract submissions for conferences and events. Users have found it effective in managing speaker submissions, allowing them to easily accept or reject speaker content. The software has also been utilized to organize various participants, including attendees, volunteers, VIPs, and staff, for events such as an Olympic Style Robotics competition. Similar to how sales teams use Salesforce to track leads, Cvent Abstract Management serves as a central database for all information related to participants. It has been praised for its ease of use, allowing speakers to submit their content easily, even from their phones. This software has seamlessly integrated with the Cvent Event Management platform, providing users with a comprehensive and efficient solution for conference management. Sales and marketing departments have also taken advantage of Cvent Abstract Management to coordinate publishing events, including email invites, e-reminders, and post-event data collection. Additionally, it has proven valuable in the call for proposal process by collecting speaker information such as bios and headshots. The software makes it easy to schedule sessions and add speakers to the linked event. Overall, users have found Cvent Abstract Management to be an indispensable addition to the suite of Cvent products, enabling them to streamline their conference operations effectively.

We use Abstract Management to collect potential presentations for our Symposium each year. We also use it to collect award nominations for our Innovation of the Year award which we also award at our Symposium. We like that you can send out the link provided and anyone can submit. We set up our judges/reviewers and it is easy to include instructions on the portal so they know how to judge. This year we are utilizing the ability for the reviewers to receive emails as submissions are received so that they can review as they come in instead of reviewing all of them at the same time closer to the deadline. It is super efficient in sending out acceptance and rejection emails. We also like that Abstract Management works together with Events and we can pull in the sessions into those events straight from Abstract Management.
  • Email notifications to reviewers and submitters
  • Easy to use for submitters
  • Provides a way to loop accepted presentations into the events
  • Marketing weblinks could be added so that we can pull reports of which links were used to drive submissions
  • Runner-up emails. Something between reject and accept. For our Innovation of the Year award, we reject everyone who did not get the top 3, send out the accept email to the winner, but just leave the 2nd and 3rd place in the submitted mode because there is not an in-between.
Cvent Abstract Management is best for accepting potential presentations for events and accepting award nominations. It is great when you have sessions that need to be judged and/or graded.

We use Abstract Management to collect abstract submissions for our tier 1 an tier 2 events. We typically collect between 20-200 submissions and will have a committee of volunteers log in to review the submissions. Abstract Management has been a great tool to be able to pull reports with the submitted information, along with the review comments and ratings from our volunteers.
  • Allows for ratings to be connected to the submission.
  • Easy to pull reports of the submissions.
  • Easy to set up the website and test before launching.
  • Some of the custom widgets have caused the wrong information to copy over.
  • Some of the speaker information was linking across submissions.
  • If the same submitter made more than 1 submission, the information got switched.
It is well suited for collecting large amount of submissions. It allows you to create multiple questions, sub questions, and other information collection forms to make sure you have all the information required on a submission. I like that we can set specific questions that we want our reviewers to answer and provide more feedback on.

We mainly use it for speaker management for our conferences. We use it to be able to customize our forms and it allows our speakers to submit their content to us as well. It’s easy to use and speakers can do it from their phones. I can easily accept or reject speaker submissions as well.
  • Speaker’s submission
  • Content
  • Automate emails
  • Designing forms
  • Easier way to use with the management software
  • Approving speakers
It’s great for planning conferences or events where speakers or panelists will be involved. I don’t have to chase them down or ask repeatedly for things. They can access the platform at anytime to complete the information needed. Once completed I can showcase the information on the event management page.

I use Cvent Abstract Management in conjunction with the Cvent Event Management platform to help one of my clients manage their abstract submissions from authors. Prior to selecting this software, they were using a survey platform to capture the submissions and dispersing it to their reviewers manually. They receive between 70-100 abstracts each year so the work to manage them was rather tedious. Cvent Abstract Management helps not only the collection of the submissions, but also the reviewing, approval, and scheduling process.
  • Flexible submission options, with question types, file uploads, and data collection.
  • Gives you the option to automatically assign reviewers to an abstract based on category, or assign them manually.
  • Allows you to connect your Cvent event to the Cvent Abstract Managementt portal to schedule accepted abstracts as sessions within your event.
  • Whoever submits the abstract is designated as the primary author, and if that isn't true in your use case, the co-author fields cannot include additional text or question widgets to help you differentiate authors.
  • Reporting options are not as robust as Cvent's event management platform, and sometimes don't offer the variety of output you might need.
  • Email options are limited, and emails cannot be test-sent.
Cvent Abstract Management takes a lot of the manual work out of collecting, reviewing, and scheduling abstracts. Both the authors and reviewers log into the same portal to submit and review the abstracts (though it can be set for the reviewers to review blindly for impartiality) so no data has to be taken out and sent manually. Accepted and declined submissions can be marked within the portal, with emails automatically sent to the author notifying them of the decision which simplifies the notification process. But the biggest time saver is the ability to take an accepted abstract, select one of its authors or assign a new individual to present it, and assign it to a time slot in an existing Cvent event so it becomes a session and the author is loaded in as a speaker. The amount of manual data entry removed by that step alone is worth few issues with the platform.

I have used Cvent Abstract Management (CAM) for about five years. It is used primarily for the call for proposal process for our annual conference. Cvent Abstract Management also collects speaker information, including speaker bios and headshots. It provides a central location to collect, review and accept/reject proposals. Scheduling sessions and adding speakers to the linked event is can be done with ease.
  • Collects speaker information - bios, headshots, etc.
  • Schedules sessions to the linked event
  • Customized submission forms
  • Need for transferability of customized fields to linked event
If you have been using a spreadsheet to collect and organize a large number of sessions and/or speaker information, then you need Cvent Abstract Management (CAM). After years of going through this cumbersome process, Cvent Abstract Management has been a life changer!

Cvent Abstract Management was a fantastic addition to our Cvent suite for a conference. It was easy to follow, reviewers could easily access the submissions and it linked to the Cvent Event Management platform. It was a one stop shop!
  • Integrate with Cvent Event Management
  • Organize submissions and reviews
  • Ease of contacting and approving abstracts/submitters
  • Interface was a bit clunky, but I know there were updates forthcoming
We had about 75 reviewers submit their abstracts to us in the portal. We were able to easily assign these to reviewers, get their rating and then merge them into the overall agenda portal.

We use Cvent Abstract Management within the sales and marketing departments of my organization. This software helps us coordinate publishing events within local communities. We are able to efficiently send out email invites and e-reminders as well as post-event data collection. Cvent truly does help to make the planning process a smooth one.
  • Creates event agendas.
  • Auto generates invites and reminders to attendees.
  • Handles attendance selections.
  • Would love to add a feature that allows for more customization of invites.
  • Would like a more seamless process to approve or reject speaker submissions.
  • Would like more topics added for reviewing standards to be based off of.
I absolutely love all of the Cvent products available. Their platform is amazing and the tech support team behind the scenes is always available to assist with any questions or glitches. It is a smooth, efficient process when working off of Cvent software. You can't go wrong in purchasing from them.

We regularly gather groups and organize events in furtherance of our grant-making work. There are a number of logistics that need to be organized in preparation to track and prepare for this work. This includes payment/finances, meals, lodging, transportation, and the details regarding presentations and other related needs.
  • Storing and organizing information.
  • User friendly.
  • Intuitive.
  • Pricing is high but you get what you pay for.
  • Some less computer-literate users have trouble.
  • Very rare glitches.
Preparing for conferences and gatherings is a demonstrated good use for this product. Similarly, other efforts that involve many moving pieces would be well-suited- projects with a number of different participants/authors, team retreats, and situations where there is a benefit to storing and organizing information in a decentralized way where no one person needs to bear that responsibility.

We use Cvent across our whole organization to organize an Olympic Style Robotics event. We organize attendees, volunteers, VIPs, and staff within Cvent. It is our source of all truth for all participants and acts as our database for all information. Just as Sales Teams use Salesforce to track leads, we use Cvent to manage and retain all of our external client information. We pull reports, track attendance, and manage all information out of Cvent.
  • Organize data/people
  • Reporting
  • Progress tracking
  • More affordable pricing tiers
  • More thorough FAQ/Self Help Center
  • More tutorials
Cvent Abstract Management is very built out. There is a lot you CAN do with it, you just need to know how. Being a small organization, we don't get a lot of hands-on attention. It's a little complex for beginners, but once you start learning and understanding the system there is so much you can accomplish with it. I could spend 90% of my time on just understanding the software (which I don't have). If you have someone that can dedicate a big chunk of their time just on the system and building it out how it will work for your event, it is a fantastic solution.
