I use Deltek for industry intelligence and insight so we can better understand the strategy and position of our focus customer. This helps us easily identify focus areas within the industry, budgets, contacts, opportunities, and business plans.

I use Deltek GovWin IQ daily to track solicitation activity (RFx, etc.) and competitors in my accounts, public news about my accounts, and investigate potential partner organizations for collaboration. I also attend many of their webinars which are full of actionable information about Federal-specific info (budgets, activities, etc.) and specific accounts. On several occasions, I have requested and received advanced training on how to take full advantage of the Deltek GovWin IQ capabilities. It's true that, along with our internal Salesforce system, I utilize Deltek GovWin IQ to most effectively manage my territory.

Pros

  • Tracks Federal Agency solicitation activities, providing frequent updates and links to important websites and documents. This has allowed me to have one resource that truly saves me time in gathering important account info needed for planning and reporting!
  • Webinars that provide budget and spending intel and actionable program information, both current and planned.
  • Advanced training for professionals who have the desire to pull any type of contracting-related information across agencies. Users can go as deep into investigations as they need or desire.

Cons

  • The training can be quite complex, so it would be nice to have canned presentations that users could refer back to for refreshers on some of the advanced techniques for mining account information or running complex searches.
  • Some smaller or non-cabinet level accounts have only basic information available so some of those accounts could use a bit more focus.

Return on Investment

  • For my business, Deltek GovWin IQ provides a 1-stop resource for IT-related information about my major accounts. This saves me a tremendous amount of time & effort researching my accounts, identifying potential partners, and searching for updates to the relevant solicitations to my business.

I use GovWin to find RFP/RFI opportunities in the public market. It allows me to identify and promptly pursue opportunities in my field. It also allows me to prepare for upcoming opportunities and to better understand the our market. It also helps me to find all that I need to respond to opportunities
