Finally a solution to the elusive USB connected Print Meters

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We needed a solution to help with our managed print issues - collecting meters from USB (non-networked) devices has been a challenge for a long time, this cuts down invasive calls to our customers to get meters from these machines. Many print management issues have been solved by implementing Printanista, it syncs with our main software E-Automate and cuts down IT involvement.

  • Aids Technicians in 1 call closure rates by feeding data to service module
  • Keeps customer downtime to a minimum by providing real time data
  • Helps find low/no profit contracts, allowing them to be reviewed

Cons

  • It would be nice if updates were pushed automatically
  • Syncing function sometimes needs a push

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our primary use of the software is to collect meters and monitor supplies, with a secondary use of collecting preflight data for new equipment installs. This alleviates the need to call or visit customers for needed information, limiting the need for additional manpower and client disruption. The supply monitoring piece allows for on-time supply shipment and lower associated supply costs.

  • We had hoped to be able to charge for monitoring supplies, but due to the lack of reliability, we have not been able to realize an additional revenue stream for this product.
  • As a whole, the product has saved us an entire position in our contracts department.
  • Having the meter data available is very useful for remote support call closure, as we do not have to ask the customer to provide a meter.

We use Printanista to keep a better lock on machines on how they are manage with toner levels service calls more access for techs to be able to have live real time information to help with turnaround times

There is a need to monitor customer usage for multifunction devices for billing purposes. A manual process is very labor intensive and has the risk of human error. Printanista addresses that need by automating the process at reliable, fixed intervals. Data is then imported to another system so proper billing can be applied.
