Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

The company had used Array and I believe they had been going through an acquisition and was becoming antiquated and was not keeping up with the growing needs of our company. The system was not very user friendly and limited since it was a main frame system. It had come time to update.

Prior to my employment with the company in 1995, we had a Honeywell ERP. Speaking with fellow employees at the time of my hire, I was told that e-term was substantially easier and faster to work with. Issues in the beginning were with upgrades. Every time we had an upgrade, we had continuity issues.

The move to Eclipse was to modernize our business system with a move to a Windows user interface, and with the expectation that the application would continue to improve. Our prior Array-based system was capable, but with limitations of a terminal emulator interface, and reliance on a mainframe computer with a related IBM service contract. Eclipse can run on any right-sized Linux box or even a virtual server. The migration process was painful, but any migration is painful due to differences in processes and data. Since our initial conversion in 2005, we have acquired other companies and successfully converted their data without our customers experiencing any significant downtime.

Epicor Eclipse replaced our IBM AS400 system that was from 1985. It was very outdated and we needed a more productive system to stay up to date and inline with our competitors to offer them more capabilities.

the migration was a long time ago but our implementation went well. We have attended many go lives of other Johnstones and they seem to get their data to import well and get a good transition to the software without loosing a lot of data that his needed. We have learned about the value of some of the key control files that were set up in the installation that we have since decided to change.
