We have been working with Ibexa since 2019 to host our new websites using eZ Publish. We recently upgraded to Ibexa Experience 3.3.10 and are quite pleased with the newer design and functionality. The Ibexa developers we're working with have a strong relationship and continue to help enhance our websites. Overall, we are quite pleased with the Ibexa relationship and solution.
Pros
- Ability to easily develop evolutions.
- Fairly simple CMS - easy to navigate.
Cons
- Limited partners when you compare to other solutions (WordPress, Drupal, etc). It took us a while to find a solid, trusted developer.
Return on Investment
- Highly customizable - though can be very costly.
- Always watching our content object count.

We use Ibexa DXP for our upcoming global website. We will merge 55 global websites into one. We sell 130 B2B products and have a blog. Our content exists in 32 languages. It is quite easy to share products and localize the content. Also, all items like navigation, buttons can directly be translated by editors.

We have been working with Ibexa for more than 6 years, and have been through many iterations of the product, starting back when it was still eZ Publish. We are currently on v2.5, meaning we have also taken the time to go through an upgrade and migration of the product, and all the way the team at Ibexa was always there with us each step of the way to assist. The platform itself is very versatile and is great for organizations with complex structures that require a great deal of flexibility to host their digital services. While there may not be as many on the market connections with other products, if you have a good team of developers you can accomplish almost anything you like with a bit of elbow grease. The only downside is that the product itself is now in a state of a mix of old and new codebases, where the newer React-based components can cause issues and extra work when still maintaining older legacy code.

- Listens to clients and strives to improve based on feedback

- Better integration of the newer, modern features with legacy code
- Better testing and/or support for core bugs that are not easily fixed by non-Ibexa developers

- Core bugs have required a great deal of our own time to fix when not taken care of by the Ibexa team
- Flexibility and ease to create new sites using previously developed features in the system allows for leveraging of past efforts

Ibexa DXP runs our organization's flagship website. It was built from the ground up and tailored to reduce the amount of time it takes to make updates and changes to the site. With the new block-based technology, we can configure pages to appear unique while maintaining a level of consistency that we did not have with our old tool. Content is now micro shareable and bringing in more social acquisition than before. The layout is more streamlined and utilizes reusable content to quickly make sitewide changes if necessary.
Pros
- Block technology is by far one of my favorite features of the tool. This allows us to quickly layout content in a unique manner with a variety of display options.
- Micro Shareable content blocks allow users to quickly share our content across the web and drive more relevant traffic back to our site.
- Reusable content blocks allow for better management of content throughout the site, ensuring accuracy with a simple update.
Cons
- I really do not have any cons for the tool. If it isn’t an out-of-the-box solution, customizable configurations have been able to solve even the toughest of problems.
Return on Investment
- Positive ROI for sure. The employee time saved managing on Ibexa DXP vs our old tool almost pays for itself. The tool is also extremely stable and requires very little ongoing maintenance. This allows us more time to enhance the tool or focus on the overall user experience.

Ibexa DXP has allowed our content creators to work independently as editors while creating a content-heavy e-learning application, usually without the need to involve developers, who can focus on new features instead of supporting editors. This has been absolutely crucial to our success so far.

- Built on a solid foundation (Symfony) with a huge ecosystem
- Advanced features such as GraphQL and JWT

- Can be costly but in my experience not as costly as the competition
