Pros

  • Efficient application traffic load balancing
  • Robust Web Application Firewall (WAF) capabilities
  • Ensures high application availability and uptime

Cons

  • Outdated and complex user interface
  • Limited automation capabilities and API integration
  • Challenging configuration synchronization

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

So every time I log into my work ID, and if I want to connect to my Z drive or any drive for my department, then they ask me to log in to the F5 BIG-IP. And after that, I think there's a certain number of hours that they let you use it, and then they lock you out. So it's hard when you work on something, and somehow you save it, but it's not saved, so you have to log back in and then save the file. So I'm not sure if there's a better way for us to keep it open longer during our work hours instead of logging back in and out every single time.

Pros

  • My company is kind of like it's a safe thing if you log in and you provide another second login to get the code to log in, confirm that it's a correct that you are logged into the account and it just provides more for the company

Cons

  • I haven't seen any problem with it yet, but it's very efficient. I just log in, and if they ask me to log in again, I just log in again. When I log into my work computer, it's already lock in. I just need to log into the F5 BIG-IP for it to connect to the online account or Z drive that we have

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

F5 BIG-IP is our primary application load balancer. It allows our customers to access our applications from anywhere in the world and enables our infrastructure to efficiently distribute the load. Before its implementation, managing on-premises infrastructure was much more complex and required significant investment. Now we can do much more without additional investment.

F5 BIG-IP the Gate Keeper

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We using BF5 BIG-IP for both load balancing and DNS resolution. We have external clients which need to communicate with our internal servers. So F5 BIG-IP here helps us to act as proxy to load balance the traffic to servers. We also use F5 GTM as an external DNS resolution for external clients.

Pros

  • In monitoring servers node and detect the availability of the node
  • To load balance the traffics among 2 data center servers
  • To perform health check of the nodes via URL

Cons

  • I want F5 to perform intelligent choose the nodes member based on source addresses.
  • Intelligent routing based on less load servers node

Return on Investment

  • Positive impact is that this F5 help us in gate keeping our traffics flow between internal and external network.
  • Negative impact is very less but sometimes the accuracy in performing health via URL is a issue.
