We use F5 Distributed Cloud Network Connect's load balancer to allow our system to be more fault tolerant and critical systems would not have a single source of failure and the product have helped us to achieve that.
  • Load balancer
Using load balancer to allow our critical system like PAM to be fault tolerance and the secondary PAM is still functional when the primary PAM it not functional.

We utilize the F5 Distributed Cloud Network Connect as a secure hybrid-cloud ingress supporting on-prem and cloud workload to our global user base. Currently we are migrating existing applications as well as creating a new "green-field" environment as a new standalone organization. We need a product that is provides security at the forefront with minimal latency.
  • Centralized Hybrid ingress for our cloud workloads
  • Centralized ingress for our existing on-prem BIG-IP devices
  • Application visibility to address end-to-end visibility into the end-user experience
  • The support model needs a quite a bit of work. I personally have experienced an outage on the platform. due to mis-configureation Although the outage was due to engineer error it took over 2 hours before we were able to speak to an engineer
  • Proxy v2 protocol to allow our organization to capture and view the source IP address
F5 Distributed Cloud Network Connect is well suited for connecting hybrid workloads. The support model is a real challenge as outages can be very expensive in term of loss to the organization as well as credibility for the product

The Network Connect aspect of the F5 Distributed Cloud Network Connect is an absolute game-changer! It is a full stack that replaces disparate pieces of networking architecture. We are looking forward to getting the connectivity connected between all our sites. The best part is how much happens on the backend to make an engineer’s job much easier. Glad that with the whole XC platform, the initial step to make things easy was the primary driving force.
  • Solves a difficult problem of duplicate IP addresses.
  • Product is very well documented.
  • There is a clear understanding of what is currently missing and needs added.
  • Still can’t quickly rename things!
  • Missing some aspects of APM being migrated into cloud.
  • Still a bit many use-cases for on-premise hardware.
F5 Distributed Cloud Network Connect Would be incredibly useful when having to juggle multiple cloud providers. Also XC would be fantastic for standardization and consistency of the whole networking stack. It may be less useful for incredibly specialized cases where very specific traffic manipulation is needed. Any use-cases with heavy APM usage would have to be carefully considered as those features didn’t make it into XC yet.

Mostly NaaS and MCN use cases for the F5 Distributed Cloud Network Connect clients.
  • App security and portability
  • Network as a service
  • Site to site connectivity
  • Enabling internet first for clients
  • Needs ZTNA
  • More pop locations
  • More integration to tools
F5 Distributed Cloud Network Connect is most appropriate is MCN with minimal global reach. For where we get eliminated from deals its pop connectivity and lack of ztna.
