FortiClient 2025 SCS

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We primarily use the Fortinet FortiClient for remote network access. In our case, we use it for SSLVPN access to our on-premise firewalls. We use it as an "as needed" solution for those who are traveling or remote workers. The FortiClient is fairly consistent in performance and meeting this business need.

Pros

  • Enterprise Policy Enforcement
  • Compatibility
  • Updates Easily

Cons

  • Buggy SSO Log-ins
  • Duplicate Debug Logs
  • Updates without a restart

Likelihood to Recommend

I believe the FortiClient is well suited for environments that are relatively centralized. Most issues that arise with the client can be easily fixed with a new policy or restart of the client/computer. However, it is not easy to support across regions for that same reason. It feels somewhat redundant when used in duo with an antivirus.

I think it's great for working from home and accessing the company's internal network. I really like its integration system; when it detects a malware attack, it alerts you immediately.I use Linux a lot, but I've noticed that it's not very suitable for it. When I need to use 4G, I notice that the session drops sometimes.

Effective and efficient VPN suite

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As my Company is mostly smartworking based, the VPN employees' utilization is almost daily and for almost everyone. Thus a good VPN framework, efficient and easy to be used, is the most adequate product for a massive usage. From my very personal point of view I can say that since the last client update, the FortiClient look&feel has greatly improved, bringing fast operations and reduced connection time, both of them greatly appreciated from employees. Now it has turned out to be stable, light weighted, fast and trustable with almost no connection loss.

Pros

  • Getting connected to Company's intranet
  • Not heavy for cpu usage
  • Easy to setup and use

Cons

  • Increased stability
  • More detailed error message when not getting connected

Likelihood to Recommend

Surely FortiClient turns out to be perfectly adequate for large scale Companies where hundreds, or thousands, of employees need to remotely connect to intranet services. On the other side, perhaps it is even too "equipped" for small size companies, where other competitors' products may be more effective and less expensive. In any case, it's always trustable a great fellow for everyday remotely working needs

Currently, I am working for an MNC company, and they have their source codes in a central location, and we can't access it without the VPN. So, to access the source codes and other documents, we need to log in to the company network through FortiClient. Without FortiClient, we can use anything.

Pros

  • Reconnection on network fluctuations.
  • Data transfer on high speed.
  • Easy to use.
  • UI is much better.

Cons

Likelihood to Recommend
