Overall Satisfaction with FortiClient
We primarily use the Fortinet FortiClient for remote network access. In our case, we use it for SSLVPN access to our on-premise firewalls. We use it as an "as needed" solution for those who are traveling or remote workers. The FortiClient is fairly consistent in performance and meeting this business need.
Pros
- Enterprise Policy Enforcement
- Compatibility
- Updates Easily
Cons
- Buggy SSO Log-ins
- Duplicate Debug Logs
- Updates without a restart
- Extremely cost effective compared to other VPN solutions
- Built-in functionality with Fortinet hardware and appliances, no redundant costs
- Tough to use the client with outside vendor softwares
Overally, FortiClient has less vulnerabilities than the two other products. The price is comparable to Citrix Gateway, but significantly less than Cisco AnyConnect. Much of the benefits of the FortiClient come with its ability to integrate with other Fortinet solutions. Without that, it is interchangeable with almost any other client.
