We use Google Cloud to store all shared Google Docs including plans shared files. And images instead of emailing them back and forth with multiple versions. This way everyone has access to latest version at the same time.
Pros
Access
Versions
Speed
Cons
Export to excel and other apps
Permission for non Google users
Copy paste like an app
Likelihood to Recommend
Suited for small and med businesses that frequently share files.

Google Cloud Storage is the main data hub for my work. For my specific work I use it to store CSV and parquets generated by user natural language query. With a storage policy we clean the buckets periodically to remove data that are not accessed frequently. Google Cloud Storage is easy to work with and when working with other services in GCP the integration is seamless.
Pros
Easy access with CLI tool
Easy to understand permission and policies
Intiutive UI in console
Cons
Sometime when deleting large amount of data, the progress is unclear
Changing bucket level permissions are sometimes unclear
The intial policy setting and learning curve was steep
Likelihood to Recommend
Especially when using other GCP services. To be frank all cloud services do translate properly between cloud providers, but GCP and Google Cloud Storage stands out with out of the box simplicity and intiuitive console. Since, it also integrates with google workspace, that is a plus for me. Can't really think of scenario where it is unsuited, unless a specific cloud provider is required.
We use Google Cloud Storage for a few things. Primarily we use it to host static files for our web app, with a staging bucket for the staging environment and a production bucket for production. Additionally, we store user-uploaded assets like logo files in our buckets. We also store our Terraform state of our architecture in Google Cloud Storage.
Pros
Excellent Node SDK
Great web interface for management
Easy to use access management
Cons
Not very straightforward to integrate app authorization logic with Google Cloud Platform's authorization for files (better at fully public files)
Not ideal that if a bucket is public by default everything in it must be public
Likelihood to Recommend
Google Cloud Storage is great for any time you might need to put files somewhere for an application. It's straightforward to download files in the browser, use files in React components, and set up buckets for different environments. I would potentially look for an easier option if your primary use case is for managing users managing their own assets, though I'm sure with some time and effort Google Cloud Storage could get the job done too.

We use [Google Cloud Storage] to store large video recordings of gameplay from user research participants, and it works great! Can play the files straight from the cloud without having to download them. Of course, it also works great for smaller files like documents and presentations.
Pros
Storing large files
Allowing online play of video files without having to download them first
Quick and easy sharing of documents and presentations
Cons
If I recall, the price for storage was more than box or dropbox, but came free with enterprise accounts if you happen to have those

We have utilized Google Cloud Storage as a method for file transfers and file sharing amongst our R&D group. It's useful for sharing across organizations, for internal and external storage.
Pros
Various capacities of storage available.
Easily accessible from various devices.
Uploading and downloading with ease.
Cons
desktop app could be better structured
sharing and editing functions are sometimes difficult to use
Likelihood to Recommend
It is great for file sharing amongst colleagues. Also for transferring large files between vendors and providers.
We use Google Cloud Storage to backup individual files, backup entire systems, share files, and to host static content. Since a storage bucket can be configured to a URL, this tool allows us to easily and temporarily host files needed between systems. Some of our storage buckets are used to host software updates, others are used only as background system backups, among many other uses.
Pros
Permissions - easy to configure.
Security - variety of permissions allows fine grained control.
Reliability - storage service is essentially always available.
Cons
Learning curve - working with buckets isn't as straightforward as end user cloud storage (like Google Drive).
Less integration support than AWS in 3rd party tools.
Integration required for best results (programming into the API).

Google Cloud Storage is a great solution for many needs:

It can be used for sharing one-off files (assuming the bucket is configured with a URL, which requires a domain and ability to configure DNS settings). While this is a very simple use case, it still comes in useful in many real world cases.

Using Google Cloud Console or the Google Cloud SDK, it's easy to copy or move files between buckets and other cloud resources. These tools can be scripted for needs like system or project backups.

Google Cloud Storage is a great cloud infrastructure as a solution product, and deserves to be held up to the tops of the industry. The cost is rather reasonable for the amount of licenses it allows, and is used across all functions of my organization. Highly recommend this product.
Pros
Unlimited storage.
High performance.
Allows for multiple cloud programs to save on one drive.
Cons
Hard to find files sometimes.
Not entirely intuitive.
UI/UX could use some improvements to make it easier to use.

Google Cloud Storage is best suited for instances where cold cloud storage is needed. By giving access to the product/development team, our company was able to provide a safe and usable cloud storage host. It is infrequently used by other teams, including the sales and marketing teams, which utilize Google Drive for their cloud storage needs.
Google Cloud Storage is used across our organization in support of our product line as well as our customer success team. It allows us to store data files, images, and other resources required by our product lines inexpensively and securely. We can control access to all resources without being cumbersome and data retrieval is quick and easy.
Pros
Data storage.
Security.
Easy access.
Cons
Very happy with the service for our needs.

Google Cloud Storage allows us to store data files, images, and other resources required by our product lines inexpensively and securely. We can control access to all resources without being cumbersome and data retrieval is quick and easy. It is well suited for resources that need to be accessed frequently. If access is less frequent, then other data storage offerings may be more appropriate to control costs.
