Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use this to backup our hyper-v servers locally and off-site. We have used VM backup to restore after hard drive and server failures and off-site can be used to restore after ransomware attacks.

Pros

  • Backs up virtual machines
  • Compressed backups to save space with on local storage
  • Restores servers and data
  • Helps in migrating VM from server to server
  • Helps backup virtual machines off-site.

Cons

  • Make the upgrades better and easier
  • You don't have to create backup from scratch after upgrading versions
  • You could backup 3 servers with the free version.

Return on Investment

  • We have increased revenue generation and provided a needed service
  • Is priced very well for our clients and is an easy sell
  • Actual works to recover data from server or drive failure or cyber incident

Pros

  • Backup of Hyper-V environments for me is super easy to do
  • Restoration of emails into a PST file hassle free.
  • Licensing is awesome.
  • Excellent training portal

Cons

  • I think, from my side, there is not really major issues in Altaro.
