Ramp up your organization quickly on how to automate repetitive manual processes with Hyland RPA

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is being used by the IT department. Our first implementation was for the Employee Terminations process. It was estimated to save us 15 man hours per week at the time we initiated the project. We are also in the process of adding requests for Multi-Factor Authentication resets.

Pros

  • The ability for the RPA Analyst to document an existing process
  • The ability to use the RPA Analyst project to create a project in RPA Designer
  • The ease of learning workflow actions & concepts in RPA Designer

Cons

  • Understanding the infrastructure and all the components (e.g. Activities, Manager, Designer, Conductor, Database, Login Service) was difficult at first
  • Understanding the compatibility between versions of all the components was difficult at first
  • New versions of Activities are being rolled out at a rapid pace, therefore, not understanding compatibility between components can make change control cumbersome

Likelihood to Recommend

Hyland RPA is well suited for highly repetitive manual processes. It works really well with more modern web applications. It is more difficult to work with older client-server applications where fields, buttons, and links may be harder to identify, but with time and experience using the tools, most problems can be resolved.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are currently using Hyland RPA [(formerly AM Ensemble)] in our New Business department with plans to roll it out to other departments later this year. We were seeing that with increased sales, our New Business team was having a difficult time keeping up with the demand of settling our new contracts and the act of settling was extremely simple. It was taking about 30% of the day to get everything settled and thought that if we had that process automated, it could free those individuals up to be more productive in other areas and focus more on our customers than a repetitive task.

Likelihood to Recommend

The reason Hyland RPA [(formerly AM Ensemble)] fit so well with us was because of how integrated we are with Hyland. We use other RPA products that have APIs behind them that are much more cost-effective but this fit in extremely well into the Hyland ecosystem and allowed us to customize it to make our existing workflows more automated. It's also well suited for teams that do not have development bandwidth. Our solution was able to be completely customized by individuals with no development background.
