IBM Cloudability Review
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Mostly cloud cost spend. It would be a lot of forecasting of budgets, forecasting new projects. We just had a training recently around Cloudability for the actual staff, and it was mostly about how to leverage the tool and the basics of navigating it and stuff like that.
Pros
- I would say the UI is pretty nice, but that's about where my likes end is the UI. It's easy to use.
Cons
- I would say the biggest room for improvement cost anomalies. We primarily use AWS for our cost anomalies. That's really the biggest gripe is just cost anomalies, at least for our use case is nowhere near what it should be and what AWS allows us to use just natively on their platform.
- There's no Jira integration because we at the company use Jira, so we can't create tickets and then assign it to teams.
- There's no real notification system other than in the application. So most of the people that have access don't use Cloudability to get the notification. They use Slack, they use their email. Some use teams.
Likelihood to Recommend
I don't have much exposure to the tool. I mean, I'm relatively new to using it as a platform, but I haven't really seen the benefit, especially with the actual renewal talks at the company. I'm not seeing what AWS native solutions are, how probability improves on that as opposed to just using AWS and just, I don't know. I'm not seeing the benefit, at least in my eyes.
