InterSystems IRIS Review
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I work most with InterSystems IRIS Interoperability. My job involves connecting the systems of branch stores with the headquarters. The biggest challenge is transforming a wide variety of data so that the receiving end can understand the message. It also involves data synchronization such as prices, which are used in all branches, mainly using service scheduling.
Pros
- Ease of component reuse in interoperability
- Even with a great database manager, it allows connecting to other data sources
- The possibility of building an entire system within Object Script, from backend to frontend
Cons
- Enhanced documentation, more comprehensive and user-friendly documentation, including detailed tutorials and examples
- Improving compatibility and integrations with others programming languages
- Introducing tools and techniques to optimize the performance of ObjectScript applications, such as profiling tools, performance monitoring utilities, and code optimization guidelines
- A better compatibility with Python libraries
Likelihood to Recommend
As I deal with interoperability 99% of the time in my work, and I really enjoy the functionality of the tool, I would easily recommend this tool to large businesses that have many branches and need a tool to integrate and monitor all of them. Besides liking the fact that I don't need to manually establish a database connection, which makes development much easier.
