Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Atlassian Jira to track our work, whether that is new work (or intake), to track existing projects, and for leadership visibility into our team's accomplishments. Jira solves many problems for us by giving us a platform to coordinate with other teams and to provide transparency to management on our requests, projects, incidents, and ongoing operational work.

Pros

  • Track tasks with story point values.
  • Provide leadership visibility.
  • Collaborate with other teams on projects by allowing us to divide up work.

Cons

  • Functionality between on prem and cloud versions is pretty wide gap.
  • Find it hard to navigate sometimes.
  • Interface can be a little slow at times.

Return on Investment

  • Able to get more work done by breaking tasks down and allowing assignments to multiple teams.
  • More efficient meetings with scrum master.
  • Visibility across multiple teams with a single click.

Great tool for enterprises for project and resource management

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use JIRA for project and resource management. I create tasks and stories in JIRA and follow KANBAN methodology. Some of our teams track their work using Agile Scrum method. We can see the occupancy of a specific resource and measure productivity. We can log leaves, holidays, etc. and better manage team for critical projects. The reports can be exported and shared with external teams.

  • Integrations

Cons

  • Searching issues can be simplified

Return on Investment

  • Jira saved 30% time on resource management which we used to do manually in excel.
