Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I started using Markup Hero 9 months ago when the product was very early stage. Even then it was immediately useful. But I've been incredibly impressed with the velocity of their product development. Just about everything I've asked about they've built and the few things that are still needed are clearly shown "in process" on their public roadmap -- which I love.

My entire team uses the tool to highlight properties for clients. We are frequently doing prospecting outreach and sending comps to our customer base and Markup Hero makes it easy to add quick annotations and get feedback from customers. I particularly love how I can add arrows, text boxes, highlights and more to PDF's. We pay for Acrobat as well, but it's really not fast and easy to add any kind of annotations. Markup Hero is so much better for this.

Recently they started testing a "teams" version and they gave me early access. This is a huge improvement because I often have freelance people that come and go on my team and I can now provision their user accounts then transfer their markups to another team member when they leave. They say that team folders are also coming, which is going to be critical because I need to organize all of our content so it can be re-used from client to client.

I'm more than happy!

Likelihood to Recommend

For us, it's sending real estate setup sheets with multiple properties and lots of comments and feedback. It's great for quick feedback and shares. If I need to make a custom graphic tho its not quite powerful enough as Photoshop or other tools. The former is about 90% of my use cases, the latter only 10% so it's still worth it. But I can see they are adding more and more design oriented features so I suspect I won't need Photoshop much longer.

We use Markup Hero across our small team to enhance communication in Slack with screenshots, annotations, and adding notes to PDFs and design mocks. We also use Markup Hero when communicating with clients and customers to provide step-by-step walkthroughs. Being able to easily annotate so many file types and assets is a HUGE time saver.

Likelihood to Recommend

Markup Hero is great for sharing quick notes and adding callouts to images of PDFs. I use Markup Hero to share and store all my screenshots too. Markup Hero is not suited for in depth design feedback and iterations like Invision or full graphic design edits like Canva (although it's getting close!)
