Microsoft 365 Copilot

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft 365 Copilot is a productivity tool that primarily helps our teams manage their email and calendars. I think it's great at saving time when you leverage its summarization tools, and it helps you become a better employee with its automated daily recap of things you might need to address or have missed, so you know what to come back to.

Pros

  • Summarizations
  • Daily Recaps
  • Suggestions of new tasks or follow ups

Cons

  • I don't think it's a great LLM model on its own, and it is a better complementary feature to the O 365 suite instead of a standalone AI source like a chat GPT
  • I think it has a fairly weak summarization and grammar check functionality in Word

Return on Investment

  • Time-saving
  • reduced missed follow ups
  • Good summarization for email threads

Microsoft 365 Copilot Fast and Easy to Use

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am using Microsoft 365 Copilot on daily basis to do several things as mentioned below: I use it summaries the MOM of my meetings. I use it to write the verbiage of the emails which I have to send to a large number of audience. I am using it to design the Job Descriptions for me to do the hiring. I use it to the do analysis of my ticket chunk which is usually huge and takes a lot time if I do by my own. I have also created a new agent some time back which is used to look for any document which is available in my desktop and I am unable to search for it.

Pros

  • Analysis of the documents , SOPs , Excels is something it does very well.
  • If you create agents they work well and can be optimze to work for everything you want like I created a knowledgebase for the agent then ask the agent questions which it fetches for me from the database I created for it.
  • It is always better to use it for all your grammatical area like getting the verbiage or MOM of the meeting or other details.

Cons

  • I would prefer if the billing mechanism is way better then current as it is complex and expensive at the same time.
  • it hallucinates sometime which needs to be fixed.
  • It is difficult to work with other applications like the interaction or integration is better in other AI tools compared to Copilot Microsoft.

Return on Investment

  • In terms of ROI it is able to reduce the 30% of the workload of teams which later is utilized in other work and ended up saving the cost of 1 FTE
  • Other than the workload it is used in the ServiceNow integration which further reduce the effort for service desk team and saved 2 to 3 FTE's as tickets are generated and fixed automatically by the tool on the first level by chat bot.

A lost opportunity.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft Copilot became the go to tool when using the Microsoft office suite. It helps with Excel spreadsheets and formatting PowerPoints. It is great to automate some functions on outlook and take notes on Teams. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it is not that good for coding anymore. The competition took over and I think Microsoft Copilot is now way behind of other tools from OpenAI, Claude and xAI

Pros

  • Automate Excel spreadsheets
  • Format PowerPoints
  • Automate Outlook

Cons

  • Coding
  • Integration with non-Microsoft tools
  • Better knowledge base

Return on Investment

  • Lost time using it while coding
  • For me, results are unreliable
  • In my experience, can't handle big tasks
