Microsoft 365 Copilot

For enterprises, Microsoft 365 Copilot is a generative AI assistant for work, available across Microsoft 365 applications and through a chat interface. Business users can use it to complete complex tasks such as drafting Word documents, analyzing and simplifying Excel data, creating presentations, summarizing files in OneDrive, and turning SharePoint sites into interactive knowledge agents. It can draw on organizational information—subject to existing permissions—to help employees find relevant content, synthesize information across emails, meetings, chats, and documents, and produce context-aware outputs within familiar Microsoft tools.

Through integration with Copilot Studio, organizations can also create and customize agents that connect to business data, knowledge sources, and approved external systems. These agents can be configured to take actions autonomously within defined rules and workflows, such as answering employee or customer questions, routing requests, updating records, triggering notifications, or carrying out multi-step business processes. This extends Copilot from an on-demand writing and productivity assistant into a platform for deploying governed, task-oriented AI agents across the enterprise.
