Has an Edge in terms of managability.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Microsoft Edge as our Mandatory browser. We need to be able to browse the internet, and Edge provides the necessary functionality. Other than that, Edge integrates well with the Windows OS we use, and Microsoft Intune manages the policies.

Pros

  • Browsing the internet.
  • Synchronising settings through work profile.
  • Being managed by Intune.

Cons

  • Sometimes, some functions don't seem to work while browsing Incognito.
  • I'm not sure if this is an Edge issue, but if you set up the Passwordless Experience in Windows and don't have Windows Hello configured, when you attempt to view a password, it displays a prompt that doesn't work.

Likelihood to Recommend

I honestly think it is perfectly usable in almost every scenario, unless you have an odd job that requires a browser with specific functionalities. I can imagine a hacker of some sort would need to be able to hide certain things that Edge probably cannot hide.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft Edge is the by-default web browser for the computer deploy and control by the company. Microsoft Edge can be control by windows GPO, which is a very good point to ensure a global security of this central software for the internal applications.

Pros

  • GPO controlled
  • extension
  • web compatibility

Cons

  • integration with the Macos keyring

Likelihood to Recommend

Since Microsoft Edge as embeded the Chromium web "motor" the number of issue is very low when you travel on the web (internal or external).

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft Edge is useful to our organization because it allows us to manage human resources in an effective manner. I use Microsoft Edge on a daily basis for common work tasks including professional development and communication with coworkers and professional contacts. I also use Microsoft Edge for research related to employee questions.

Pros

  • Multitasking on multiple tabs
  • Organizing tasks
  • Using cloud based applications

Cons

  • Grouping tabs is sometimes glitchy
  • Combining multiple windows does not always happen on the first try
  • Sign-in function does not work for me

Likelihood to Recommend

I have found Microsoft Edge to be well suited for most work-related scenarios that occur during a typical workday. I am able to access benefit vendor websites and HCM resources. Shared files in Office 365 are accessible through Microsoft Edge. I view webinars in Microsoft Edge because it is relatively easy to group webinar handouts into tab groups.

Microsoft Edge is a great browser and necessary competitor to Google Chrome

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft Edge is one of two browsers we use daily. We use Microsoft Edge to find relevant articles and relevant job positions to share in our weekly e-newsletter. Additionally, a lot of the work we do are browser based and require us to view and pull data from various websites. Microsoft Edge with all its continuous new enhancements like pins, vertical tabs, tab management (like grouping and sending tabs to devices), split screen, screenshot, sidebars, Co-Pilot AI integration, etc., continuously becomes more and more useful and helpful.

Pros

  • Returning relevant information via search
  • Managing search results with excellent tab management features
  • Continuous improvement and innovation with regular updates and new features.

Cons

  • I think Microsoft Edge could be better returning relevant search results with simple queries...sometimes I have to come up with creative search terms or phrases to obtain relevant data...it would be nice just to enter 3-5 key words and get better results.
  • It would also be nice to know which sites have paywalls so we don't waste our time opening them to view the information.
  • Sometimes the search results still aren't as good as Google.

Likelihood to Recommend

Microsoft Edge works great for any browser-based enterprise application...especially Microsoft products. It is stable and works well on desktop/laptop and mobile devices.

Microsoft Edge general news search does not always return search results that are as good as Google. It seems like Microsoft Edge returns a lot of results tied to news articles that they have some relationship with rather than what is fully available.

You'll get the edge in browsing technology!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Microsoft Edge for business and personal. The business side is great due to profile syncing which contains everything with my account (favorites, passwords, history, open tabs, extensions, my wallet). Everyone in the organization highly utilizes the Copilot built into Edge. It's a great feature for technical purposes such as creating short code or analyzing issues/problems we run up against.

Pros

  • Copilot
  • Profile Syncing
  • Privacy

Cons

  • I'd like to see more extensions

Likelihood to Recommend

Edge is well suited to the incorporation of the copilot. The copilot is like having an assistant right at your side always. It's straightforward to use and quite comprehensive. I use it for creating software code, analyzing software code, and conducting research on various topics. Using the sidebar in Edge is convenient as well. You can add-on tools that will greatly help you during your work day (or personal use). You can hide/display the sidebar on demand too so it's not cluttering up the screen.

Microsoft Edge actually has the edge in some areas

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use a wide range of browsers in our organization for our development efforts (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge). There are some legacy systems that we work with that utilize aspects of the Microsoft Edge in IE Mode functionality, so we exclusively utilize that particular browser for this need. There are many organizations in our field that do the same.

Pros

  • Renders the legacy IE pages as needed.
  • Browser is reliable and speedy.
  • Settings are user friendly and easy to navigate.

Cons

  • Microsoft Edge could definitely work on it's development in regard to mobile compatibility.
  • Microsoft Edge is unable to have cross-device access on Chromebooks OS.
  • Microsoft Edge's extension availability falls very short compared to other browser's offerings.

Likelihood to Recommend

Microsoft Edge stands up against other browsers, depending on the needs of your organization. It's fast and dependable, with a user friendly interface. Many of our legacy systems rely on old functionality that is utilized in the IE Mode. We also like that because we use other Microsoft Office products, we can open and edit those directly within Microsoft Edge. But many extensions we'd be interested in aren't available for this particular browser.

Great Browsing App

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft Edge is actually the default browser on my personal laptop, it came pre-installed. At work it is the secondary browser, used for navigating the web and accessing and searching page links etc. In my opinion it holds up equally well against the others in terms of speed, visibility and functionality.

Pros

  • Speed
  • Search
  • Visibility
  • Functionality

Cons

  • Honestly I can't think of any improvements at this time, it works pretty great as is

Likelihood to Recommend

Microsoft Edge is a very good browser in my opinion. It's capabilities include browsing the web and navigating through web pages, it enables a browsing history and favorites tab for easier access, personalization, and also offers Microsoft rewards as well (I've not used this as well but from what I understand it can be redeemed).

A Good Edge on the internet

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It provides intuitive path to accessing the internet, which I use for research, access to partner companies, and so forth. It is very easy to use, and keeping and accessing bookmarks is very well supported. I use Microsoft Edge daily, both at work and at home, and find it very efficient and effective when using online platforms.

Pros

  • Bookmark Management
  • Favorites ribbon and other favorites
  • Speed of opening the program and speed of access

Cons

  • No improvements come to mind

Likelihood to Recommend

Best use is for swift access to graphics-heavy websites, and the fact it processes these very well without glitches. Another strength is my familiarity with earlier iterations, specifically MS Explorer. My use of Microsoft Edge benefits greatly from my experience with Explorer, and that knowledge base is very applicable to Edge.

Off the top of my head, I don't have any inconsistencies to report. Microsoft Edge works well.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been using Microsoft Edge (ME), as my default browser for a few months. Due to its latest features involvement It has drawn my attention more towards its continuous use. I found it very quick & fastest, secure, and easy to be integrated with other MS products and services. Now one of the best and my favourites is Bing Chat (free GPT4), which is supported by Power AI, which helps me more I do than I thought ever, a free GPT-4 supported in a browser.

This built-in AI assistant assists me in summarizing different information (Input options are screenshots & images, voice, typing & copy-paste), creating content & more.

More about Bing chat, it is easily accessible in the toolbar of the browser and it understands natural language, and context and answers the questions properly.

Pros

  • Humanic Response to Queries by Bing Chat AI
  • Latest news
  • Summarizing info
  • Latest on price compareson of the latest products
  • Quick, fastest & Secure browsing

Cons

  • Prolonged responce generation time by AI (in Bing Chat)
  • It needs an upgrade to user interface design
  • Not very effecient in conventional computers (Requires a good GPU)

Likelihood to Recommend

Microsoft Edge is well suited for personal and professional use, and this is also suitable who refused to buy the premium chatbot because it provides a free GPT-4 feature.

Microsoft Edge is Cutting Edge

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft Edge is great because it is really user friendly. It helps me keep track of my tabs and frequently visited sites. It addresses the business problem of having much internet work to do. The scope of my use of it is that I use it for email, sites, viewing and downloading pdfs.

Pros

  • Tabs
  • Multiview
  • Downloading

Cons

  • Location services on Microsoft Edge aren't the best in my opinion.
  • Don't love Bing's new AI feature
  • I'd like to see a contact importer

Likelihood to Recommend

Microsoft Edge is best suited for specific scenarios like doing market research, using CRM software, and referencing emails while you are also working online. Microsoft Edge is not the best suited for specific scenarios like mapping locations, finding quick "googleable" answers, or for keeping continuity throughout a system in my opinion. That's my thoughts!
